Do I just need to change out the piston rod to make it work?

Yup, if you change out the barrel too.  The great thing of the AA setup is that there are options for change.  I have done this with two different setups too see if it works.

That's it with the AA system... if you need to buy the op-rod go to Midway.  They are FAR cheaper than AA direct ($50)
