Yes I know they are expensive, magazines are expensive and are heavier compared to other piston AR 15 piston rifles but I have a chance to get one of the new model with Troy sights for the same price I paid for my Noveske N4 SS Afghan with the monolithic receiver. I am mainly concerned with how accurate they are. I also own an LWRC M6A2 and compared to my Noveske it is nowhere near as accurate. I would appreciate any owners of the MR556 to report what kind of accuracy they are getting out of their MR 556's.
TIA

They've been coming with the Troy sights for some months now, prior it was the standard HK diopter and front rail mounted sight. As for accuracy remember that the MR556 has a match grade non chrome-lined barrel and also that that damn thing is HEAVY the profile of the barrel under the handgaurd is also heavier than the earlier heavy contour 416 barrel. The gun is a tank but quality is high, as well as overall fit and finish, very beautifull gun.

Ammo is so rifle specific--that's a tough one.

MR556 is sub-MOA capable with good ammo. I shot from my MR223 (same barrel as MR556) two 5 shot around-MOA (0.731 and 1.084) groups with Hornady Steel Match 75gr ammo and same drill (2 sub-MOA 5 shot groups in a row) with RWS Target Elite Plus 69gr (0.827 and 0.978). And those were not exactly "bench rest" shooting (I was just zeroing new scope). I also shot 10 shot 1.144 MOA group with Hornady Steel Match 55gr. I do not have lot of results, because I shoot mostly 3Gun and get some groups only when I zero rifle for new ammo or new scope.

I have one. It is amazing. Crazy accurate.

A bit heavy, but worth it.

Seems to be unpopular on ar15.com because it's HK and because it's expensive.

For me, it was down to larue vs HK. HK came out on top because I'm an HK guy. I'm sorry that I don't have a better reason.

I have one that was re-profiled and nitrided. Shoots sub half MOA groups. Last measured group was 7/16ths with 7 shots in the group.

Just purchased my second MR upper.

Pics please, when you can. A bit of an HK fanboy myself and still toy with the idea of going the HK route for an AR someday.

Sorry, op, off topic I know, HK webshop has the new polymer mags on sale, buy 3, get one free. Would not hurt to have a few more for that mr556. They are nice mags.

Botach also sells the steel HK mags for $39 and can get 10% off that.  Expensive by pmag cost but still nice mags.

I will post photos when the MR556 when it is fully dressed. I did change my mind on the scope. I have a Bushnell Elite Tactical G2DMR 3.5-21X50 on my MR762 in and ADM QD Recon mount which I really like. So I tried it on the MR556. I initially thought it would be to big but without the sunshade it fits just fine. So I ordered it, rail ladders and scope caps for it.
