I am looking for the original HardCoat specifications for the M16 RIFLE.  I also whant to know when they changed from the GRAYBLACK Finish to the BLACK.

You may find some of my results and testing methods interesting.

While in these particular posts I used grey dye, you may want to try a denser oxide layer and use black dye. If only the smallest bits of black dye are absorbed it may come ut grey.
