I'm curious, is there any precedent for the Israelis re-barreling their cut-down carbines and model 653s with M4 profile barrels?  I know actual M4s found their way into IDF use but I'm interested in how common the carbine configuration of A1 upper/ M4 barrel is or was in IDF service.  Anyone have pics of this particular configuration in service with the IDF?

I'm not 100% certain about it being a M4 barrel.
If you look closely, there appears to be a round or elongated recess or indentation between the M203 barrel mount and the FSB.
It appears to be a sleeve of some type possibly. The barrel appears to be really thick behind the flash hider too.
It also has the spacers for the barrel band for the mount.
A lwt carbine barrel of some type maybe?

I've seen that above pic before.  It looked to me like one of their 13" cut-down carbines with a sleeve over the barrel to facilitate mounting the M203, so I dunno as that's what I'm looking for.  Although if I had that gun I'd likely be psyched as the dude holding it.

Man, you are quick!

I was on my phone and by the time I zoomed in, realized my error and posted an edit you called me out already!

Still a pic of a cute Israeli girl though

Give me a minute and I'll find you one though. The Israelis are much like the Air Force in that they will never let a part go to waste!

Edit: Damn, it's harder to find than I thought and work keeps interfering! I know I have seen them before but of course now I can't find one when I want one.

The carbine looks to be a 12.5" based upon the length of the barrel vs. the M203 barrel, also there appears to be a sleeve around the barrel to mount the M203.

I have seen pictures of IDF with M4s (fixed carry handle), M4A3 (detachable carry handle), etc.  It is not unreasonable to think that when an Israeli Menusar or Mekutz'rar carbine's barrel went bad, they would use an M4 barrel as a replacement since they are in the supply chain.  The Israelis are almost as good at Franken carbines as the USAF!  I'd go with the M4 barrel if you like.

An yes, the Israeli's have some VERY beautiful women.  My son married one, and she is STUNNING!  She is also a sensational mother and wife.  He is a very lucky guy!

Its all in the barrel extension, not the barrel profile.  The .750 with the GL step and a rifle extension is a replacement part available for early carbine uppers here, maybe its the same there.

Good friend of mine went through the IDF basic training. Pics of him are of a carbine with an A2 F/S Upper (aka C7 upper) and a 14.5 inch M4 barrel. Basically an RO723 look alike, but cobbled together from old M16s.

Yep, you are right.

I think the first rifle to the left is an A1 upper with the cut out just barely visible.

Maybe I'll get it right this time.

Well I guess there's no substitute for just googling it, by combing through google imagesearch results for israeli carbines, I managed to find these.  So it seems fair to say the configuration is out in the wild there.  I'm kind of assuming they just took M4 barrels with M4 feedramps and stuck them into the non-ramped uppers, which apparently works fine in most cases.
