Got these in today from boywonder. I was going to cut them for my 607 build, but can't do it.  They are now on my XM16E1.

Started with a green scuff pad, then hit them with medium and fine compound on my buffer. Then hand buffed with 3M super fine rubbing compound.

Pretty big difference from before to after.  The left looked just like the right when I started.

I too keep getting parts like that for a project, then after a little cleaning, I can't bring myself to use them for what I originally got them for.

Oh no! Cats out of the bag now Those look good Thom! I have saved many a type D that way, some would be surprised what you can sand and polish out if you put the time into it. Thanks for sharing.
