Looks like a typical old school pony to me.  Idk when colt began using A2 lowers as normal.....ask in the colt Industry forum...

Totally normal for a 1990 era Colt.  They used slab side SP1 type lowers well into the 1990s.

Colt AR15 production after the SP1 ended wasnt always so cut and dry. I know Ive seen rifles with Sporter 2 lowers and large hole A2 uppers.

Perfectly okay for an early Colt Sporter Match HBAR. I have a MH6601 (s/n: MH 048XXX) that has the A2 reinforced receiver.

I'd like to know what the block is that looks like it is held in place by a pin where the auto sear would be on M-16s.
