When you get the barrel let us know if it has a smooth finish and not the machine / tooling rings from the cutting tool and if the site post is standard and not a "F" one, Thanks

Whats the big deal if it does have an F-marked FSB?

F-marked front sight bases are slightly taller.  The front sight will have to be screwed in further than on a regular FSB.  Less available adjustment.

Ahh, okay.

The kit I'm looking at will have an original FSB, so it'll be a moot point for me.

They are perfect 605 barrels, chop them, pull the FSB, open the gas port, replace with a Colt FSB and assemble. That's what I'm gonna do.

I had great success with my first attempt at drilling and pinning a new Mckay barrel to a used Colt "C" Bell sight base.
My home made jig in the milling machine worked great.
But, I'm unsure how it would turn out with a barrel, that has been previously drilled for another FSB.
I wouldn't think that the grooves would line up well.
Has anyone had good success at doing it?

Other than the front sight, what would be the advantage of the Brownell's barrel over the lower price Green Mountain barrel? $220 vs $168

The Green mountain barrel has M4 ramps I believe, other than that without owning either I can't honestly say.

Shouldn't it have a 1 in 7 twist.

The Green Mountain barrel is a bare barrel.  The Brownells barrel comes with the handguard cap, delta ring, weld spring, snap ring, and front sight tower (mounted).  Unless you already have the parts and can do the sight tower mounting yourself, the additional purchases and gunsmith fee will wipe out the barrel price difference.

How good are the Green Mountain barrels? Better phrased: How accurate are they?

Too bad they don't come with a flat slip/delta ring...
