It is Sunday Dec 21 and 70 degrees in California, I am listening to Jimi Hendrix play the Star Spangled Banner and I felt like posting a picture. (723, 1966 PPK and USN mini Kbar posing on my 1946 Willys)

Here it is:

I could do the 1911, but my wife would have something to say about a stripper

Cool. We used to run to the Camillus factory and back during cross-country training. It was a bitch. I grew up about 10-12 miles from the factory.

And it's a Mattel! Just like my cousin carried in the Nam!

It was 70 and overcast today. Just to make up for the 70s and pure sunshine yesterday!

Happy Solstice!

And Happy Mithra Day!

And Happy Saturnalia!

Only three more feast days left in those last two celebrations!

I always like your pics with the Jeep as a back drop....Thanks!  A buddy of mine has what I think is an early 40's Jeep.......one of the rarer ones I think.......has the FORD in script on the rear.

My dream vehicle is a 1942 heavy Chevy truck, converted to LRDG specs. I know where there's a great candidate truck...but no money or a garage. Someday though... I miss my old 1967 Type 11A 88" Landrover too.

If we're talking dream vehicles (that I could actually own/drive/park in the garage) . . . Dodge Weapons Carrier.

Hey, Fast  71????? I'm in nor-Cal, and it has been raining for 3 weeks (rainiest December in 7 or 8 years!)  Feels like I am back in the Seattle area.  Oh well, more water to send down to you guys!  Nice carbine, BTW

Cooled off this evening - had to put on a flannel shirt (sleeves rolled up) to go for my walk....

Nice pull on the song.... good one...

(I don't want to attempt to rebuild the generator..that is why I was hitting up JT)

Ok here is the back story - he had two (now one) and his wife was real tired of it taking up room in the garage. Not to mention the entire wall of jeep parts. Same relative that gifted him the Jeeps also gave him a chit pile of rifles/shotguns and ammo just last year - everything from sportized Mousers, Browning's to M1's (rifle and carbine) We have soft plans someday to hit the desert and try them all out  - his wife permitting.

I have posted about his wife in the threads about the IRA guns...she is Irish and experienced the violence in Northern Ireland growing up...the guns stay in his office and the ammo is hidden at his house. We DO NOT, repeat DO NOT say the word Armalite around her...I was talking guns one day and got a "Bloody Ear full" ....

All the Irish refer to any AR15 or M16 to A bloody Armalite, learned that when I went to Ireland before 9-11 to visit some relatives we had never met in a town my family is originally from Kerry, about 20 miles from Belfast.
