I was just browsing for a Christmas present to myself and noticed this one and was curious as to what people here thought of it.

I've never seen a large screw receiver of that type.  I can't tell if it's one of those front screw adapters.

Someone's unfinished 605 project maybe?

Appear to be Colt proof marks on that upper.... Could be legit 605 upper. 2nd one to turn up in as many weeks.

Edit: Agree it is an SP1 lower with USGI upper.

Damn. Two weeks ago I honestly believed that no original 605 uppers probably existed in civilian hands.

Also it annoys the shit out me when people post ads like this and don't give any information on the barrel markings, it happens a lot on gb.

It looks like a black arsenal refurb on the upper. The lower almost looks duracoated too. I think I will try to get a closer look at it

I agree Max, Its that niche market piece... I have also seen prices change or auctions disappear when there are no bids and detailed questions are asked.

I guess the jig is up. I'm the high bidder for now on this auction now  that it is on here who knows how high it will go. Anywho the only markings that is on the barrel according to the seller is the number 12 out toward the end of the barrel. I believe it may be a first year colt 1963.

LOL, I was wondering where you were I figured you had been watching it. One more thing on the barrel I did ask about,  the "up and the Arrow" is engraved or stamped what ever you want to call it.

That is pretty wild....two 605 uppers in 2 weeks.  I hadn't seen one for sale since 2008.  I bought MRM1A1's upper.  It has the original finish with black lugs.  Looks almost identical the one posted in the OP, except it looks like someone said, arsenal refinished. Who'ever wins it, please post some detailed pics if you can.

That barrel appears to be a VP 12 but pics aren't the best, that would be my guess... If I'm correct, the barrel and upper receiver are worth what you paid for the whole gun.

RedFiredog was in contact with the seller and was told it has an M. I don't plan on selling anything but the lower.
