Easy but if a semi, you can put AR15 selector in and itll work great.

First, welcome to the forum. Lots of good info here and good guys.
Second - pictures really help. M16 selectors are easy enough to find, Not sure what pins you mean though. Sounds like maybe Fire Control Group? Does it have a trigger intact? EDIT - on re-reading it makes me think maybe you have a hole for the auto sear? Be cautious if this is an original lower that can be completed as a machine gun. Stay away if proper paperwork doesnt exist. |

I think I may have seen that same auction listing for a registered retro M16A1 w/sear hole but missing the fire control components. If purchased, you should be able to source the appropriate FC parts without issue.

some strange auction rules:
The auction company gets to bid on their own, or the seller's, behalf. The auction company gets to see the max amount specified for all pre-bids registered. Sold AS-IS, no inspection and refusal period, so be sure you attend the preview, apparently. |

It looks like its missing charge handle too so probably no bold carrier either basacially no internals .. It will sell for ridiculous money !

If you're buying an auto M16 you're generally paying for the lower and it's designation as a machine gun, all the other parts are cheap comparatively.

Seems to me that someone picked up a registered lower and slapped the upper and buttstock on it. Not that I have anything specific to base that on, other than the pics. If I had the money to bid, I would probably be shopping elsewhere. Not a bad item (the lower), just don't like the setup.

I think you did just fine! If I had 25K in expendable income I would have done it in a heartbeat!!!!! (That is probably why I don't have 25K in expendable income)
Now the real question is...... Are you willing to really fix it up like the retro rifles we build? I mean re-finish it, the whole 9 yards. You have the real deal, now take the hobby a step further. Make it look like a brand new M16!!! That would be truly awesome :)

Converted receivers were going for around $15K last time I looked. Colt M16's 18-20K + ETA: looks like more than that now... http://dealernfa.com/shop/category/colt/ Plus it is a less commonly seen U.S. property marked lower, but yeah kind of bogus they didn't provide a complete weapon |
