The A1 post has 5 places to lock in for height adjustment and the A2 has 4, this and the shape of the post are different but I can't see it being an issues to where you can't zero the rifle. They are the same height and are almost equally adjustible, the A1 being a little finer adjustible. If the military upgraded it, then I wouldn't worry about it not working.
