Found a archived thread by RRiggs dated 8/8/2013 and pictured along with a in the wrap 1969 XM3 bipod case he had a bipod with clips on both sides in a clear wrapper, I'm inquiring re any markings on the bipod or the wrapper. Going thru my equipment cabinet today I found hidden away a knurled handle three piece gray parkerized steel rod with short tip M16 cleaning rod in polycraft envelope dated 1964, did some checking and I'm certain it's a M11 from photos and description/specs I researched. I also have the next in the series M11E1 cleaning rod. Printed in black on the USGI tan polycraft package, 1005-070-7812  Rod 1 Each  DA-11-199-AMC-518(Y)  A - 8/64. The tan polycraft package is marked 7/64  SEAL BAG  2131 with a 1/2" arrow. Package is 13 3/4" long and 2 3/4" wide, the shape of the polycraft package with rod parts inserted doesn't allow space for anything else. For 50 years old the package and rod are in very decent shape.

I think it has been almost a year since RRigs has been around I tried last year with no results, either.  His shooting pard Farmboy has not been around, either.  I think RRigs girlfriend was in the girls with retor guns thread about 6 months ago.

imarangemaster thanks for the heads up re RRiggs being MIA from AR15 for a while, hopefully he or a friend will see this post and contact me. I'd also like to hear from anyone that picked up any ArmaLite AR18/180 oddities from John McGerty when he was closeing down Timberline Hawk (ArmaLite AR18/180 parts/service) in the early 1980s.

Looks like I also struck out on Blondie. The further I dig into the AR15/M16 bipod/cleaning rod/XM3 pouch and related items I'm coming up with examples from new sources that look like some items were very limited short term transitional examples in the early to mid 1960s. Here's one for our experts, what does the US military acronym DWG stand for in relation to a US Army contract number?

DWG usually stands for " Drawing", as in the blueprint "drawing" number of the part, not part of the contract number.
