It has been 2 years since I built this so I finally finished it and took it to the range for pictures.
NDS Lower
Colt CH upper from CDenmark
FNMI Barrel
Unknown Chrome Carrier and parked bolt
Butt stock surplus from local dealer
Hand guards from a local surplus store for $10 with tape already on them.  I have a nice shiny pair but they are loose.

It shot well but had to take the rear sight pretty far to the left.

Looks great and glad to hear you have shot it. Hand guard wise, you could peel the camo off and use goo be gone to take the stickieness off or JB Weld the ends of your shiny set. From what I have seen, the sight issue comes from the barrel twisting in the slot during install. Try the trick of turning it upside down on a flat surface. All contact points should touch the surface. If not reinstall the barrel. John Thomas post a write up a few months ago on how to use a barrel vise to avoid this.

Good luck and thanks for sharing the pictures.

Edit- one other thought on the loose hand guards is to use the same trick that many of us use to repair broken hand guards. Two part epoxy with either candle black or black dye mixed in it. It can be sanded and buffed to the same finish as the guards are today for a near invisible look. More work, but worth it in my book. Of course you could always find a new pair or just leave the camo ones in place.

I'd just grab another used set of handguards off the EE or PIF and toss them on, other than that the build looks great. Function comes first over eye appeal, exactly how far do you have to crank your windage to get on target?

Oh I have the loose shiny set that look good but are loose. I may try those ideas to fix. I also have another set that are like new but I like the BTDT look anyway. The camp tape reminds me of the LRRP or SAS in VN.  My rear sight is over about half way between center and the left side.  I have read about the barrel and upper slack but it didn't seem like there was any.  I will end up taking it apart again to see if I can hold it left this time. Thanks guys.
