So TSI appears to be closed/out of business based on their website.  How can one acquire a 607 type stock now other than waiting for one to pop up on the Equipment Exchange?

Thanks
Wes

Yep total silence closed up a course of years ago. I was lucky enough to get one of the last stocks.

The good news is we have a few members who are picking up the slack.
Braceman and stonermk25iv.   I'm not sure what stages their parts are In
But I just keep a eye out around the forum. When they are done,,
It will make news.  I'm sure they will also be able to help out
With rear end caps and moderators.

Don't get your hopes up on swapping parts. I've seen the internals of the airsoft one and it's not what I'd call robust.

I'd stay away from AirSoft parts. They are not intended to be used with the recoil of a real gun.

Mostly wanted it to see/get ideas of how to make internal parts and decide if I want to try and make my own. I think I can use the but plate as a jig to drill the holes in the but plate braceman made for me.

I can give you dimensions.  You'll want to cut your type "D" stock 2 3/4"-2 7/8" from the parting line between stock and buttpad.  That leaves the back of the stock at a 5 degree angle relative to the buffer tube. (same as what the angle is on an unaltered stock) You want to maintain that 5 degree angle. 5 degrees is relevant because that is the angle that you'll have to drill/ream the 5/8" hole through the buttplate for the locking mechanism.
.....After stock is cut 2 3/4-2/7/8 you have to drill a 5/8" hole the full length of it.....exactly 1 inch from the centerline of the buffer tube hole, and parallel to the buffer tube hole. I machined a fixture that has an 1 1/8" rod mounted square to the base. I slide the stock onto that rod, and have a means of holding the stock with a "U" shaped clamp while drilling the 5/8" hole.
.....after mounting the plate to your stock you can transfer the 5/8 hole location to your plate. I'm not sure what the backside of your plate looks like, as far as having a means to hold it while drilling/reaming the 5/8" hole through the plate. YMMV compared to mine.

The through hole that you see in the pic is .500 and is used for machining purposes. The last step in the process of machining is to open that hole to .625 at a 5 degree angle.
....the locking mech. is another story. If you modify a stock and get the plate mounted, and want info on the locking mech. we'll take a look at that.
