I plan on building a  XM177 ish style rifle in the future, I'm not a purest so it doesnt have to be 100% accurate .

I just saw a 3 pos stock on EBAY, for $39 shipped, not sure if its metal or plastic, most likely plastic at this price, texture resembles a metal bushy stock I've seen but it might just be the pic, thick but plate looks plastic,  I've seen one on line before that looked exactly like this one, I believe the post said it was an early knockoff of the Colt minus the vinyl coating.

As long as its not air soft it should be ok for me, looks like older style castle nut.

It had no bids at $25, i think it was listed today, but for buy it now at $33+$6 shipping, i figured it was less than most CAR style stocks I see on line.

Opinions?  Was it some ones here?  In the last pic, I don't see a mold release line but rather what looks like a flat surface, possibly machined, but on the bottom aft of the latch it looks like here is one.

Kind of looks polymer in one pic but aluminum in others, I'm not sure.

Yah I thought the same thing, I was about to order a cheap $39 one on line + shipping, but it was 6pos and it had the new slotted castle nut, I figured this one either painted if plastic or powder coated if metal would look better, either way I'm happy, also curios to see if I can figure out who made he tube.

i've had some like that and i'm pretty sure it's an aluminum aftermarket one.  maybe sgw.

it's thicker on the buttplate and on the area under the latch.  the texturing is cut into the stock too vs being a recessed waffle pattern like the colt/bushmasters.

not a very good copy of the colt but for $39, that's a great price for the tube and lock ring by itself.

Effn I didn't have the Bushmaster I picked up, I'd have been all over that.  And I lucked out that I already had a straight back commercial tube.  Looks like a commercial tube?

Looks like an Essential Arms stock. Which means, Bushmaster and others. Great buy!

OP..........when you get it, if you want, you can send the lockring/receiver plate and I'll reparkerize it for you. Sort of a "pay-it-forward". Let me know.

Looks aluminum to me. Do they have more? If so, email me the link so these other greedy little bastards don't buy them all... LOL. Seriously - do they have more? If so, post the link!

it's not based on my observations above.  the pattern being cut into the buttpad and thicker buttpad are not from the forgings that bushmaster/essential arms/colt used.

Here's a Bushmaster.  See the difference in the area above the latch?

I wonder if it's a Tony's stock?

It doesn't look like the ones I saw at the Tony's gunshow booth. Their's had the recessed waffling on the butt but strangely was offset at an angle.

So then Tony's stocks would be the most accurate compared to the originals?

No - definitely not. Probably the old Bushmasters or Essential Arms are the best. They pop up occasionally.
