No, the larger rear end cap. HG's come with the front cap (which I guess is standard. That back end is not a factory size after it's been cut down, so it must be repro'd by someone

I'm kinda confused...someone care to show pictures of this rear cap? I have a set of carbine length triangle hand guards but it uses a regular delta ring and triangle front cap
I think I get it, someone cut the traditional triangle hand guards for carbine length

Here's the deal. When they first designed the 607, they considered using both the rear and front halves of a regular set of HGs. Both options were explored. I personally prefer the back half, and I have small hands. Both designs are very cool.

photo courtesy 101ABN327...picture of original 607 military museum 
PI has the thin sheetmetal stamped version. Someone else did, or may still, produce the carbine length triangle handguards that use existing frt cap and rear slip ring. Here's the repop that I turn out every once in a while, copied from the 101ABN327 pic of an original.
