Thordsen does not make a saddle, they make a tube cover on which the saddle mounts to. This is a blade with a cheek saddle on it, no need for the thordsen cover.

Thordsen/CAA cheek weld

SBR stamp should be back in about 2 weeks. Put together the pistol lower to transport it out of state (I live very close to the state line and sometimes shoot in TN) without any hassle, and it also means I can shoot it now while I'm waiting on the stamp.

Nothing special.  Just a Sig 516

Going to be shortening the length by replacing the buffer tube.  And adding an EOTech optics, with night vision.

I really like how compact these are.  Great for my Jeep.

Thanks! It's a Radical Firearms whole upper assembly. And the muzzle device is a Spikes Barking Spider 2. I'm very pleased. I've only had time for a couple mags worth of shooting but no issues so far.

First pistol build 7.62x39

Aero precision upper and lower
phase 5 hex 2 buffer assembly w/st-t2 buffer
Radical firearms 10.5 " 7.62x39 barrel
Diamondhead vrs 10.25 " handguard
kac flash can (slim)
Mbus gen 2 sights
nib bcg
Caa Upg16 grip
tactical ambush 7.62x39 bolt
wolf extra power hammer spring
enhance firing pin
Spikes tactical st-t2 buffer

Still thinking about a paint job

Edt: for range report asked by a fellow memeber.

So I took it out and the very first round didn't seat with the bolt fully closed then I re racked the bcg, it closed. The ammo was wolf, i fired it and it went fine but weak on the ejection plus no bolt lock back On last round . I tired a few more rounds all the same it had trouble closing and locking open, untill it closed and didn't open so I had to take the upper off and force it open. After I got the bcg out the round was stuck on the bolt, the extractor left indents in the round casing.

Don't let this stop you from building one (Christopher67) im working out the kinks. Forgot the gas block Allen wrench to adjust the gas. after reading other threads the extractor is just to strong and I need to take out the bigger o ring for the smaller one. The buffer maybe too heavy for the bcg to lock back so I'm getting a lighter one to try

Very nice!   I've been thinking about a 7.62x39 AR pistol build myself, but have been reading to many horror stories online about getting one to function reliably. How is yours running?

Don't take this the wrong way, I love ugly guns, and that thing is fantastically hideous!

I bet it's fun, too. I'd call that a "moped", real fun to ride... till your friends see you on it.

ETA: pistol pic thread compliance.

^^^^^now why would I take it the wrong way,  everyone is entitled to their opinions...as you expressed yours.
I ride a moped to get from point A to B, my friends ride Harley's  to get to the same place.  different ways to get there..it's up to you.

I really do like it. Well, everything but the brace, but that's a whole different discussion. I'm in lack of a 9mm of my own, so I get a bit jealous when I see a nice one that says FU to current trends. Good job.

With the receipt of an Ambidextrous 3MR trigger from Tac-Con, my first pistol lower is complete.  However, I cannot decide on a barrel length.  This is for home defense, so I plan on something like a Spikes' Barking Spider or PWS CQB to handle recoil, blast and flash, recessed into the handguard, and it has to throw 5.56mm effectively and accurately.  10.5" seems to be the popular choice, but with the muzzle device length and Sig brace it makes near to the size of my 16" rifle.

For some reason it does not appear to put in my pic when I look at the thread. Grr.
