Yes a Sig P556 would be an off the shelf option, but i didn't have the $12-1500 just laying around.  I put this pistol together for around $500, all new or fabbed parts.

RDTCU, that's awesome work you have done with that pistol project.

I especially like 3D models you have done for the piston version.

I've been modelling some gasblocks with Solidworks but your work is way ahead.

Edit: Almost forgot that this thread is ONLY for pistol pics so here's one pic of my .22LR pistol

After 2 months of waiting and NO communication from model1sales I got my barrel and BCG in for my 7.62 build. Waiting on my badger tac latch with CMT CH, MOE hand guards, Delta ring assembly and front sight post assembly to come in the mail. It's been a LONG process but I am still searching for a 1/2x36 threaded FH to have it complete.

I am NEVER going back to model1. I can understand that they are busy but having the phone off the hook, not responding to e-mails is just something i am not going to do again. And of all things they couldn't give me a front sight post with my barrel?

Jesse, I found this one:1/2x36 FH

I know it's for a 9mm, but it's the only one I've seen in 1/2x36 thread. Hope this helps.

RDTCU, that's really something , man!

I hope you've got your submission to the Patent Office in already?

If not, get on it, because, I for one, can see this thing making you a very rich man!

I'd rather have that over a 6.5" Olympic() any day.

very nice. so no buffer tube is needed? is that because the bolt doesn't have to go back as far for a 9mm? sorry, I'm a bit new to AR pistols

No buffer tube needed for a dedicated .22 upper.

ETA: It says a 9mm upper, but it's got a .22 magazine. I'm confused now.

i believe he's talking about the upper reciever and not the "upper."  That receiver looks like a dedicated 9mm and I think he used it with a 22lr barrel and dedicated bolt feeding it all with a bdm mag.

not !00% though

so the upper receiver is a dedicated 9mm receiver that is shooting 22lr?
i can see how that would work, just trying to clarify.

This is correct. I purchased a stripped 9MM upper receiver and installed a standard ejection port door. The 22LR adapter doesn't need the gas tube, forward assist, or shell deflector. This also gave me the slick sided, lighter weight build I was trying to achieve.

9MM upper receiver (also purchased from Model 1 Sales)

Model 1 Sales 7.5 inch 22LR dedicated barrel installed
