Was it worth the price? This is a T&E unit provided by Silencerco for Review by TheGearLocker.net.. The Saker Trifecta that it is mounted to is a fantastic Comp, it works great. I am in FL and I can order Silencers as needed, so the price of the MAAD brake isnt something I can personally justify, but for those in Cali, who are looking for a Brake like this then the cost is more than likely worth it to them. Does it perform as designed, most certainly. One thing I will add, it is Heavy and the weight is noticeable at the end of the gun. I had it installed on a 16" barrel for testing and it had an impact on my ability to keep on target unsupported. That weight has a positive impact on muzzle rise though. Pick your poison.. |

Cool looking rig! But how the hell do you shoot that thing with such a short tube. And please don't tell you just shoot it pistol style.

ETA: I assume the HG and brace are FDE and just don't match the mag - they look OD in that light though. Kinda like the OD look. Thanks. The brace(I just painted it) and furniture are all indeed in OD. Only the mag is FDE. Altho I have lots of OD mags. I've always liked OD, I guess. The shorter buffer tube is only 1" over the Sig brace with no spacer. The other 10.5" pistol up above in those pics, uses the longer 2" extension KAK buffer tube. I've sorta gravitated to the shorter one used on the A1 more so lately. Makes the OAL exactly the same with the 10.5", but with an 11.5" barrel. Nice and compact, but still very usable tho. ETA:And Morg, I agree. The trusted old light-weight quick-handling A1 still is a favorite of mine to carry and shoot. I think I'm going to swap the 10.5" pistol light and mount over to the A1. I like this A1 enough that I now want it fully capable of doing the HD thing(ie:light and RDS). But otherwise still keep it toned down to the basics. Light and compact, but still now just as effective as any other "setup" HD 'whatever'. |

The buffer tube assembly is from Ultimate Arms. It was bought as a kit. along with the brace. Typically runs around $160-175 ish complete. http://www.ultimatearmsgear.com/Ultimate-Arms-Gear-Stabilizing-Extension/dp/B00K5CAMFG |

Over 26" OAL you can have a VFG, it's considered a "firearm" by the ATF. See the Franklin Armament XO-26 for reference |

That gave me some excess strap length when I installed. For now, I just used 2 tiny zipties(shown in pic) to hold the short piece of excess strap. The D ring will not move from where its at. Theres a loop that sewn in place to keep it at that location. Which is perfect. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d161/hipower90hipower/SP1wCARstock051_zps3f752120.jpg That looks GREAT!! What buffer tube is that? Also is your barrel a lightweight or gov't profile? Thanks. I love the way it looks short with that stock setup |

Its in between the typical KAK tube thats on my 10.5"...and/or no spacer at all. Just long enough, but still very compact for tight quarters duty. |
