Ooooops...yeah, I forgot that. I will have to fix that...she doesn't look good with a big hole in her stomach. Thanks RandyStacyE... That paint looks really good, and I like the color! In my opinion, that looks much better than a bright colored marking. The upper isn't an M1S...I just bought the parts from JSE Surplus and put it together. I've got the parts for 2 more on the way right now...should be here this week I hope. They will be 16" rifles, but I am going to camo them both. This will be my first attempt at the camo thing, so I am kind of nervous about it. I'm going woodland on both, and will be using Krylon paint, shot from an airbrush. I turned the cans upside down and emptied the air out of them, then put the paint into my airbrush jars. I was going to use Duracoat, but I wanted something less permanent to experiment with first. I will post some pics of them when I'm done. JuJu |

There's nothing wrong with using a standard buffer tube. There are certain technicalities that go along with that though. Technically ... you should not be in possession of a stock that can be readily attached to the pistol buffer tube. That or modify the buffer tube so that a stock cannot be 'readily attached'. Either way … there’s nothing wrong with using such a tube. |

Unless the extension tube has been permanently disabled from accepting a stock, (ie welding the holes closed) this might be considered constructive intent. Possession of a stock like say on another AR you own would only make things more difficult. A blanket statement that "there is nothing wrong using such a tube" is grey at best, not absolute. Best to ditch the Carbine receiver extension and spend a few bucks on a dedicated pistol extension. |

It's the tube from their entry stocks (the ARFX-E and the ARUL-E) with the same foam and everything. All it is missing is the stock plate that goes on the end, and other than that, it is a complete ultra lite entry (ARUL-E) stock kit. The extension also has the theads in the end for the ARFX-E stock's upper screw. Pop off the gussett (one screw), and slide on an entry stock body and tighten its screw in the extension - done. If you're seriously worried about "constructive intent to create an SBR" you had better not have an AR rifle/carbine and an AR pistol. It would be VERY easy to push out two pins and swap the pistol upper onto the rifle/carbine lower to make an illegal SBR, right? They have to prove you had the intent. Otherwise, it is like the DEA busting you for having enough cough syrup in your house to make a single dose of methamphetamines. They have to prove you were going to make the meth. There has to be a line drawn somewhere in the "constructive intent" lunacy. I think as long as I have the pistol built legally and the rifles/carbines built legally, and don't swap the parts or stick other extra stocks on, I am following the law. I have no intent to break it. ETA: For what it is worth, a lawyer in our GA hometown forum has the same setup - regular 4/6-pos (not sure which) carbine extension with no stock on it - for his pistol build. I only bought the ACE pistol ARP setup because it is prettier. {Pics will go here, once I get my backordered upper} |

No gas tube, just a little custom made block in the sight where the tube goes to keep it really quiet with the AAC Pilot on it. I added an Ace 6 position buffer tube covered with an Ace foam sleeve to prevent a stock body from being "readily" added. An ambi Suregrip and some ladder type rail covers are next. That is a sweet stick. I still sweat over a buffer tube that (could) accept a stock. |

I am experimenting w /a modified standard receiver extension. I've been thinking about running a 9mm upper in the near future, and have read that the longer receiver extension w/ the correct buffer is more reliable in a short upper, so I'm going to test them & see how it works. For the legal minded types, they won't fit in a stock. I permanently affixed a 1/4" x 1 1/4" fender washer on the back of them. Even if they could be made to fit on a stock, I don't have one to put on them.
For the doubters, here's a link to the bigbore letter. Standard receiver extensions are legal. Big Bore letter |
