10.5 inch barrel
Noveske KX5
Old Troy Alpha forend I had laying around (really don't care for it, but it needed a home)
Aimpoint magnifier in Larue mount (gets moved around to different ARs, sits kinda high for the T-1 in that mount but works great)
Aimpoint T-1 in Fortis mount
SIG SB15
Unknown buffer tube (fits SB15 really well though)
Inforce WML

Gotta say I'm pretty happy with way it came out. Haven't had a chance to get it to the range - hopefully this weekend.

he claims it's a pistol with 10.5" barrel. ATF says to not be a pistol and qualify as a AOW you have to be 26" OAL  AND a 12" to 18" barrel.

https://www.atf.gov/press/releases/2006/04/041006-openletter-nfa-adding-vertical-fore-grip.html

Nope, read the ATF letter in the link I posted (here: http://www.franklinarmory.com/XO-26_Letter__c_.pdf), its newer and pertains to this specific issue of the misunderstood "firearm" classification.  This configuration is not a "rifle", "SBR", or "AOW" as defined by law.  Pay attention to the last paragraph.

So not a Pistol, Rifle,  SBR or AOW? That sounds like way to much of a grey area for me. I guess I am wrong but I would never own one because some one is going slam that loop hole shut and I am surprised it hasn't been done already.

How about you know the laws before you go spouting off your bs.
Thanks for your consideration of my freedom though.

My first pistol build.

MAS Defense 7.5" upper
Palmetto lower
Palmetto pistol build kit
Palmetto bcg
Sig brace

This thing is absolutely awesome! 100% reliable and can hit an 8" plate at 200 yds. with no problem.

Technically its not a pistol its now considered a "Firearm" .

Personally this is why i  wouldn't do it to mine, because Virginia authorizes a Concealed Handgun Permit. I want to be able to carry mine in my car or on a 4 wheeler loaded.

Adding a VG no longer makes it handgun or a pistol.

I completely understand.

The gentleman who that belongs to has a quick detach grip, and he leaves it off and in a separate bag and when he goes to the range. He then attaches the grip if he wants too, from my understanding. He seemed to be a very knowledgeable guy and knew TN gun laws.

Eta; when I build mine I plan on using handstops, as that is my preference.

He was explaining the part in blue, and that's why he keeps it off and adds it when he wants to use it at the range.

Cool........Being an outdoorsman and spending a lot time in the woods in moonshine and meth country I just love the benefits of the AR pistol.

Here is mine with the Law folder..

the only thing i've changed is removed the carry handle and put a T1 micro on it.

The AR57 upper? Still haven't fired it, but will on Thursday this week. Just wanted to branch away from 223/5.56 since I have 5 in that already and the AR57 has been a want of mine since the ps90 doesn't look right unless it's sbr.

I would agree. Go with the 10.5" barrel. Any muzzle device that you are going to use to manage blast is going to add 1.5" to 2".

For a pistol I had no intention of running a suppressor on I love an 11.5 or a 12.5 .   I do wish I had bought a 10.5 inch barrel for a build that is going to run suppressed most of the time though.

Here's my pistol build so far. I'm waiting for my blem lower to be shipped from PSA (no surprise).

Daniel Defense 10.3" barrel
Troy Alpha rail, 11" with squid grips, IWC hand stop, and IWC lo-pro QD attachment point
Troy Claymore muzzle device
Aimpoint H1 (2 MOA) on ADM mount
KAK pistol buffer tube with spacer kit and SigBrace
B5 Systems grip
Magpul aluminum trigger guard

(PSA Blem lower and LPK, and ALG QMS trigger hopefully shipping soon).

I'm planning on painting the upper receiver, lower receiver, and rail in Parkerizing Grey AlumaHyde II, and leaving the rest contrasting black.

Yep, sure is. (potato pic/being lazy and not grabbing the better camera )

If you look at the 2nd pic in my 1st post you'll see the shiny peel washers just behind the RA RAC, and just inside the rail. That should give you an idea of where the threads start. The RAC's ports just clear the fron of the rail.

Daniel Defense 10.3" barrel
Troy Alpha rail, 11" with squid grips, IWC hand stop, and IWC lo-pro QD attachment point
Troy Claymore muzzle device
Aimpoint H1 (2 MOA) on ADM mount
KAK pistol buffer tube with spacer kit and SigBrace
B5 Systems grip
Magpul aluminum trigger guard

(PSA Blem lower and LPK, and ALG QMS trigger hopefully shipping soon).

I'm planning on painting the upper receiver, lower receiver, and rail in Parkerizing Grey AlumaHyde II, and leaving the rest contrasting black.
