More pics of my new build. It's my second gun, my first AR, my first build. And I'm awaiting my tax stamp so I can build it into an SBR. I figure, if I'm gonna get into the AR15 game, I may as well start off with a bang.
Bang? More like Sonic Boom! Nice! I need to GTFO of Illinois so that I can go the SBR route. At least I can have a pistol and hi-cap mags, for now!
Changed some stuff, the moe k is awesome.
Okay, I give up...
What's with the MBUS on the 6 o'clock rail?

I don't know... I'm still not sure why there's an optic mounted on a non-free-floated quad rail...
That said - I saw a guy this weekend at the gun range shooting his Model-1 Sales M4gery with a non-free-floated quad rail... He had a $1200 ACOG on it...
He was getting 5-INCH "Groups" at 25 yards from a sandbag rest!
Non-free-floated rails are NOT the best place to mount an OPTIC or RED DOT if you want any decent accuracy, IMHO.

x2 maybe it's for that gangster style of shooting I been hearing about.
How hot does that 7.5 get??? I'm waiting on a 7.62 - 7.5" barrel to arrive to complete a pistol build - I'm thinkin' I may need an Oven Mit

Mine doesn't get too hot, but I haven't gone nuts with it, and it's more comfortable for me to grab the mag well..

Yeah, handstop til I pony up for a gear sector one, I had it laying around and it does the job.
As for the optic, I checked on here if the kac rail would even conceivably hold zero, got a bunch of yeses, and it has. Eventually I'll get an a3 receiver, but i've got to sbr it first.

Nice! Did you use the KIES linear comp on a 7.5” barrel?
Pistol AR as it is currently configured..
a video capture.
First Pistol Build was a 10.5" 5.56
AR-15 5.56 10.5" Pistol Build
Here is my second Pistol Build
AR-15 7.62 11.5" Pistol Build
They are great shooters and eat Brass or Steel ammo - no problem

Used it on a 7.35" barrel. :)
Just ordered a 7.5" 7.62 Barrel ($115) for my next Pistol Build - going to add a Krinkov Style muzzle device to it.

am i missing something, or are there numerous pics of sights on backwards, carbine buffer tubes that would readily accept stocks (hope you don't have any car stocks in proximity, just in case...), and questionable mount choices... all within the last couple days?

What's wrong with having a buffer tube that would "readily accept stocks"? That isn't illegal. Some people build their pistols and use them while awaiting SBR paperwork to be approved. Why would you waste the money on a "pistol" tube, if you would eventually be installing a stock? (Even if they are inexpensive...)
Not everybody NEEDS a pistol only buffer tube, only the guys that are overly-paranoid about breaking the law.
Many people seem to think the NFA can just change their minds at a moments notice and suddenly they are going to raid your house and arrest you for laws you had no idea you were breaking. There are publicly documented letters from NFA branch all over the internet stating what is and isn't legal on an AR15 style pistol. And, NO, you do not need your own hand-written in blood and notarized letter from the NFA addressed to you, in order for the laws to apply to you. A law is a law. It goes for everybody. That's how laws work.
*end rant*
