Thanks. It's a VLTOR MUR-S. base coat of nickel boron with a top coat of burnt bronze Cerakote. Here are some better pictures. Closest I could get to reality.

I don't see a lot of pistols in here that really catch my attention but wow, your setup is very nice.

I really like how simple and clean it appears.  Lines are smooth, the upper with no deflector/forward assist/ejection port door, smooth pistol receiver extension, no rails on the handguard, and even on the magazine   --  an abstract work of art!

Thanks a lot. I wanted to keep it as clean as possible. I cannot describe to you how much fun it is to shoot also. The lower that's on there is actually for my 300BLK pistol I just havent finished the lower for this 556 and it will probably have a black pistol grip.

My first Pistol Build.  The CAA Saddle is just mocked up I haven't decided if it will stay or the rifle buffer for that matter.

Seekins Precision SP223 Lower

American Spirit Arms Side Charging Upper w/bolt

Marks Armory 10.5" Stainless Steel 1/8, 300 AAC Blackout barrel

Troy Alpha 11" Battlerail w/flip-up sight.  The sight just touches a KX3 Pig whereas without sight no problem.

KX3 Pig muzzle brake slightly machined to fit the rail

Troy rear BUIS FDE, I think I should have gotten black

Burris Fastfire II in a ARF mount,  Can't decide to keep it for go with a T1 or a Eotech 300 XPS, decisions, decisions!

Burnt Bronze Cerakote

Generic LPK

Rifle buffer and tube

CAA Saddle mocked up over some 550 paracord.

Squid grips for the battlerail in the mail.

The standard bolt release Seekins sends will not work with the ASA side charging upper without some machining, it's a fatty.  I just pulled the one out of the LPK and used it.

DO NOT!  I repeat DO NOT! thumb the bolt release with the side charging handle to the rear of the bolt release, i.e. bolt locked back and the handle not forward of the bolt release!   Slap with the palm of your hand.

DO NOT! I repeat, DO NOT! Ask me how I know this!

Going up to the range in a bit to feed it some handloads.

What kind of optic is that? I have been looking at a Primary arms Micro and also a Vortex SPARC. Sun Optics also has a micro red dot, but I've heard that they're worse than Barska.

Spider Pig - Still have some final touches, but it's nearing its final form.

I really like the SAR rail / KX3 combo. I got most of the parts at a discount, but had to pay full price on a handful. Altogether, I have right at 950$ as it sits, which is a bargain if you add up the retail pric of the components,

10" Spikes SAR 2
10.3" DD Barrel
Spikes BCG
Noveske KX3
Magpul K-Grip
Phase 5 Buffer Tube
Yankee Hill Black Carbine Length Gas Tube
CMMG LPK

That's a beautiful pistol. What is the rail, a Seekins BAR? I'm also curious as to which flash hider you're using.

I installed the KX3 on mine, but it's heavy and I came across a very promising forward flash hider a day or 2 ago (can't remember the name). I don't know if I'll stick with the pig just yet,.

That bottle opener! I think that will finish off my build nicely!  Your PSA Lower was just a normal stripped lower from them? I've got one too, and an 80% (not milled yet) and I'm chomping at the bit to finish this off so I might just use the PSA lower instead of the 80%

Don't have it yet. I'm doing it slowly so my wife doesn't kill me. Hell the upper alone is like $550 from midwayusa.com. Thats just the receiver and hand guard. The changeable mag well is $250 each, then barrel and bolts. Most people won't see the benefit of this, but I feel like I had to sell a kidney to get my EOTech and magnifier. So, I would like to run a one optic set up. Plus it's different and kinda bad ass...

Ok, so the upper changes caliber too?

I like the idea of building different uppers around a stock forged lower - you can go .300 Blackout, 6.8 SPC or 5.56. I like that idea.

If this special Lower/Upper combo opens up the door to .308, 6.5, .458 and more, I can see the utility. If not, get a few Vortex SPARCs and change out uppers!! More utility, and you're always just a lower away from another gun!

When I built my pistol some years ago you could not have a carbine buffer tube. The thinking is you could readily install a butt stock thus making a SBR     Kevin62

The upper uses any standard barrel/ gas tube or they have a piston set up as well. They do have a .308 and 458 set up using the same upper. There is I think a possible 40+ conversions for the rifle. And I do understand the multi rifle/ upper reasons, I have that I just wanted something different...

You could have used a Carbine buffer tube all along, people where fearful and never bothered to clarify with the ATF. Some people used carbine tubes during the 90's and such I believe.

Because of the "HANDGUN" scope? Or?
