5.45x39 S&W upper cut down to 11" built on a stripped lower. Has the Osprey gas piston system. Assinine lower 1/3 mount for the Aimpoint T1 (I ordered the "true co-witness" one and they sent the wrong thing ). Chair end cap to protect buffer tube when resting on it and Magpul AFG, both utilized after much reading of ATF letters so they've been ruled as legal (not fired from the shoulder before someone suggests it). Hardly any recoil so a cheek weld is all that is necessary.

Just wanted to update, shot great.  No issues with cycling in 150 rounds.  I was not happy with the flame put put out through the YHM FH/comp.  Picked up a Levang from Brownells, I am 25 miles from them so shipped to me in 2 days.  Going out to the range today for follow up test shoot with the Levang.

I am in the IAHTF, I just stay out of the Bob Roberts/Sceptic love fest threads.

I will be at the next build /shoot, I was at the last one too, if you want to try out the pistol.

Last build I was shooting RLarge's Galil quite a bit and then the 7.5 SBR.  It was my arm that ended up bloody from it.

Please excuse my crappy camera pics. I will get better ones up this weekend, hopefully.

This is the finished product from earlier pics, built on Aero Precision receivers, DTI 7 inch barrel and LPK from JSE, RRA bolt and carrier, YHM carbine  light weight free float and end cap, YHM Phantom flash hider, CAA/EMA flip up sights, one point sling, AR 6 position buffer tube covered by an ACE sleeve with an ACE buffer and spring.

Wrapping cord around a M4 or carbine extension tube is ok to meet pistol qualifications?  Would like to know this before I spend a little extra $ on another pistol tube.  Thanks.

My understanding (not a lawyer, but I have written the BATFE about pistol buffer tubes before and using a rubber cane tip on them) is that any brand new lower that has never had a buttstock attached can be used for a pistol, and the buffer tube has to not allow a buttstock to be readily attached.  I would not feel comfortable just wrapping a working carbine buttstock extension with anything, as you could just cut it off and slide on a rifle stock.  I have seen where others have dipped the extension in plastic/rubber, yielding it impossible to fit a standard buttstock on the extension.  I would probably be okay with that, personally, if I couldn't find a pistol extension.

Overall, unless you write the BATFE about it, all you are going to get are opinions that hold no legal weight.

Thanks!  It's a sweet shooter, but it will be even nicer with a CTR on the back and a suppressor on the front.

I have no idea who made that mag cinch or even where I got it.  It's at least 10 years old and was sitting around two aluminum GI mags.  It cinches nicely around the PMAGS, and they function fine.

I haven't seen any like them on any websites or current catalogs, so I guess they aren't made anymore.

This is probably my favorite gun in my arsenal.  It's so versatile.

Specs:

BCM 11.5 upper
Spikes NIB BCG
BCM Gunfighter CH (coming soon)
Rock River Arms Pistol Lower
EOTech XPS2-0

Adding a buffer tube cover and a CAA cheek piece.  Possibly an angled foregrip.  Needs an MBUS and I'm working on a sling setup.

Can't decide how much money I want to dump into the upper as it will be a dedicated pistol, not a gateway to SBR.

Does anyone have an AR pistol over 26" in length (excluding the flash hider)? You can legally add a VFG without making it an AOW. I'd love to see pics, if you do.

Sorry, my post wasn't clear. I meant if someone has an AR pistol over 26" with a VFG attached, I'd like to see what it looks like, My bad.
And if you do have one, how is it to shoot, compared without the grip?

I'm still debating on what I want to do.  I have a DD Omega rail with a VFG on it and I'm trying to decide if I want add that to my pistol instead of the MOE handguards.
