Thanks! It took a long time, and I’m still not happy with how dull the gold came out. I might try it with a different paint.

I have seen that thread but I never bothered to click on it since PSA is not on my shit list lol My bank account loves the low prices and the quality is comparable to other rifles that cost double. I’ll check it out though 👍🏼

That is a stealth thread. It's not what it first started out as. It's where all the PSA limited lower ideas are coming from.

Pic thread so here's my Turkey-15

@togadelic

Nope, no issue. I use the Strelok Pro ballistic calculator which has the reticle. I put in my data and it automatically calculates the correct BDs.

Using a 50 yard zero gives a point blank to 175 yards.

The reticle lines up for my combination with XM193 @ 2800 FPS:

50/175 (200)
292 (300)
379 (400)
450
509 (500)
561 (550)

I just round to make it easy to remember. Close enough for a fighting pistol.

My first AR pistol (technically “firearm”)

It’s kind of a quasi FBI clone.
Poverty pony lower, MBT, Stag LPK, Spikes ST-T2 buffer, SBA3

Aero upper, Toolcraft BCG, BA 11.5” Gov’t profile barrel and GB, Geissele Mk8 DDC 9.5” handguard, Raptor CH, A2 FH, Arms 71 BUIS, Surefire G2 in Arisaka mount with PA Tapeswitch, AP PRO

And based on my tape measure, it’s 26 1/4” long to the end of the muzzle threads with the brace collapsed.

Depends on your application.

Serious use I would suggest PSA premium or any (HPT/MPI) BCG, BCM MOD3B CH, and Magpul MBUS PRO sights.

Range use I would suggest any PSA BCG, Strike Industries or BCM CH, and Magpul poly MBUS.

Looks good. I like the mini flash can.

EDIT: Those parts are just "my" goto's. There are so many good parts out now it really depends on how much you want to spend and flavor preference.

Yes. I've never tried a lower 1/3rd  deal.
Just seems like having a dot, and the sights on two different planes would throw me off.

My first AR build, ever, pistol or otherwise. Putting together the lower was surprisingly easy. I actually used a Glock 1/8th inch punch for the roll pins. I did get some roll-pin punches from Brownells, that I used to get the trigger guard roll pin flush. I didn't use a vise, but did use some wood scraps to support the trigger guard roll pin install, as the build video I watched showed some pics of broken trigger guard "ears" and how to avoid that.

PSA 10.5" Pistol Kit - this one https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-10-5-5-56-nato-1-7-nit-12-slant-m-lok-moe-ept-sba3-pk.html
PSA Safe/Fire stripped Lower - this one https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-ar-15-lower-safe-fire-1728.html
Sig Romeo 5 I had on a shotgun
American Defense QD mount (the absolute co-witness variety)
Odin Works 1" light mount with Sure 6P with a Malkoff drop-in head (450 Lumen). I bought that light prior to 2000 - Link to the drop-in https://malkoffdevices.com/products/m61-mod-to-fit-surefire-and-malkoff
Strike Industries hand stop
Radian ambi charging handle - took it off another long gun I have.
BCM QD endplate
and finally, a Lunar Concepts Split Fix in Multicam Black, replaced the original PSA branded SBA 3 brace strap

I zeroed the rifle using the mount that came with the Sig Romeo 5. I need to re-zero the rifle with the use of the AD mount. That light mount was not there when I zeroed the rifle. Does anyone think I have it to close to the muzzle? I do have it back 1/2 inch from the leading edge of the flash can. I know how I can get a definitive answer, but in case anyone has personal experience they want to pass on, please do

Thanks Doodles.

Is that an ACSS reticle prism scope you have? I was contemplating adding 3X magnification behind the red dot, but the rail starts getting cluttered and that adds more and more weight to the rifle. It would be nice to have some factor of magnification. Primary Arms has some entry-level 3X mag and QD swing mount for like $170

On the other hand, I've seen some of the Primary Arms 2.5X, 3X, 5X ACSS reticle prism scopes and they seem to be a great value. They have a 2.5 X 32 right now $239 on their site.

An opinion one way or the other on red dot + mag versus low power scope? I a not looking to touch things past 100Yds with this. I have another long gun for that.

I have all of them. I have a problem.

The beauty of this particular upper is the light weight and maneuvering speed. I think it's best roll is CQB type situations.

I can't use red dots due to my aging eyes so I went with the PA 1x Cyclops. I think PA prism scopes are great. They're tough, cheap and the ACSS reticle design is great.

The Cyclops is like having a red dot with built in backup. Even if the batteries or electronics take a dump it still has a reticle.

I have two 3x's on my general purpose carbines. The 2.5x is solid I have 2 of them but I prefer the 3x because the reticle center dot and hold ladder is easier for me to pickup. Any of the PA prism scopes would serve you well.

I don't think in the <100 yard roll I would go 5x though because more narrow FOV and it's reticle is slower to pickup compared to the M1 in the 2.5x and M2 in the 3x.

I've never been a fan of the piggy back magnifiers. I ran one for awhile when my eyes were still good but it wasn't for me. It added bulkiness and weight. I found it annoying having something hanging off the side. A lot of people love that set up and it works for them.

I'm a K.I.S.S. type of guy. If I need variable magnification I'll grab an AR with a LPVO.

I agree some magnification is beneficial past 50 yards, especially with aging eyes.

Pic thread so...

I also like yours too.  Good looking rig.  However.............  and this is just a personal pet peeve of mine may I kindly suggest you remount your American Defense 180 degrees so the lever is on the non port side.  The sight of the American flag running away from the muzzle just makes me sad but hey, it's your rifle.  Do what you want.  That particular rail PSA used for that kit looks wicked.  Happy range days to you sir.

Family photo. Just finished and shot the bottom one today, 12" 6.5G that is going to take over nighttime hunting duty.  Nice grouping with the thermal right off the bat, functioned well and I got the AGB right pretty easily too.

Top pistol is an 8.3" 300blk that is going to do HD work now.

Cans are form 1s.  All painting by yours truly.

A you F'ng kidding me? It's a... In all seriousness, I did not even notice that. My love of country, and what our Flag symbolizes is such that your suggestion is a simple one to undertake. Thank you for pointing out my mistake.
