Here's the lastest 9mm pistol build I did, have another in the works!

The "Spare Parts Build" Pistol

PSA 11.5 inch upper 1/7 twist with PSA BCG and Charging Handle (the only part not in the spare parts bin)
UTG Rear Sight
Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 Rail
Black Creek Precision Sig Brace Buffer Tube (no longer made as far as I can tell)
Sig Tac SB-15 Brace
Kaw Valley Linear Comp
Magpul K-grip OD Green
Magpul XM panels OD Green
Anderson LPK
Custom Freedom 15 Polymer Lower (made in the kitchen)

" />

Other then the upper, the rest of this pistol came from unused spare parts in my parts box. Turned out to be a nice pistol.

What is the OAL of the ARAK pistol folded/extended?  Awesome build!

In that set-up with the Sig Brace and the BCP buffer tube it was just a tiny bit over 27.5 inch "extended" (not counting the KAW Valley linear comp). 29 inch with the linear comp.
" />

Then with Sig Brace in "folded" form (again not counting the Kaw Valley linear comp) it comes in at 21 inch length. With the linear comp it came in at 22.5 inches.
" />

But due to its weight and wider profile, I took off the Sig Brace and added in a Shockwave Brace (to make it thinner folded and lighter). With the Shockwave on it is just a bit longer "extended.
With the KAK tube for the Shockwave (not counting the brace itself, just the tube and not counting the KAW Valley also) it comes out to be 28.25 inch over all length "extended".
Then full "extended" length (with KAW Valley comp and Shockwave brace in the measurement) it comes out at 31.5 inch, so its no shorty.
" />

The just the same length in "folded" configuration (21 & 22.5 inches) with the Shockwave. Using a Troy Rail QD mount, Phase 5 Tactical SB-15 strap and a Magpul MS1-MS3 QD Adapter for the make shift "locking" system that keeps the Shockwave Brace in its folded state (the Law Tactical Folding Adapter has no way to lock folded, only extended).

Thanks very much for taking time to respond, great food for thought.  I have a 11.5 PSA upper on a basic pistol lower with a sig brace.  I am definitely gonna set it up with the Law Tactical and a Shockwave brace.  I'll put of a "family portrait" of all my "pistols" once I get it knocked out.  Again, thanks very much for taking time, its really appreciated.

Should be close in length, but be aware that the ARAK-21 is 12.5 inch barrel. That may change the extended and folded lengths (by an inch on a PSA 11.5) and will also depend on the muzzle device that you use. I also just made an 11.5 PSA pistol, it is pictured a few posts above this.

Looks like a nice build from the specs.   I really dig the "custom roll mark" on the right side of the well...face shield eye slit reminds me of the C6/C7 corvette logo.

Thanks! 9.5" CMR with a 10.5" Aero Precision barrel. I agonized over 10.3" vs 10.5", but in the end really wanted to make my first foray into the world of QPQ/nitride barrels so I went with the Aero Precision because the price was right during one of their sales. I've been happy with it so far!

My AR pistol:

Red X Arms LH 7.5" upper
Spikes Tactical Lower
Norgon Ambi Mag Catch
KNS Pins
KAK Shockwave
Ambi Selector
Raptor Ambi Charging Handle (not in for pic)
TLR-3
FAB (MAKO) Defense BUIS
Holosun HS503c sight

Spike's 11.5" upper w/ BAR2 rail (got for $500 total with BCG/CH or I would've gone with a 10.5" upper)
Spike's Crusader lower
Spike's LPK
Daniel Defense fixed sights
KAK Shockwave stabilizer kit
Streamlight TLR1

Planning on putting a Viking Tactics sling on it, until I get my SBR stamp back for my other lower. Then this upper will go to that lower and this lower will have a 9-10.5" .300 BLK upper on it :)

What rail covers are those? I like them a lot. Doing a Recce build they'd work well on.

They're just the Centurion Arms standard CMR rail panels/handstop. I had to cut a couple of the panels in half to get the coverage I was looking for, but they cut quite nicely with a dremel tool. The guys over at ROG Tactical took good care of me on Centurion Arms parts.

Fear not, it is greater than the magical 26" OAL required for the VFG to be on there without the requisite Form 1 for an AOW. (It's just a hair over 26.5" from the end of the buffer tube to the crown of the muzzle sans flash hider, which is not pinned.) It's rocking the KAK Super SIG pistol buffer tube, which gives it just the right boost in length with the 10.5" barrel to get over the 26" minimum requirement.

Full parts list:

BCM M4 unmarked upper receiver
BCM Mod4 CH
PSA premium unmarked BCG
10.5" Aero Precision 5.56 barrel
SLR Rifleworks GB7 micro gas block
SLR Rifleworks black nitrite carbine gas tube
Centurion Arms CMR 9.5" rail
Centurion Arms rail panels/handstop
Magpul MVG
Troy dioptic rear/M4 front folding sights

PSA blem lower
PSA classic LPK
Magpul K2+ grip
KAK Super SIG pistol buffer tube
Spikes ST-T2 buffer
Thordsen enhanced pistol cheek rest kit with CAA saddle (wish it was the MFT)
VTAC padded sling

If pistol is 26+ from the end of the buffer tube to the end of the barrel (or pinned muzzle device), adding a vertical fore grip reclassifies it from pistol to firearm. It makes it an AOW and requires a stamp to add one if the OAL is less than 26.

If that is so true. How can this be?  The Kel Tec CMR...  The multi-position collapsible stock allows for a short overall length of 22.7” with the stock collapsed, and 30.6” when extended.  They are all that way too.
