There are some fantastic looking guns in this thread! I have just recently started thinking about going the 300BLK route with one of the builds I'm currently working on. Am I correct that it's just a different barrel (and ammo)?

Oh and one more question. Is there an unwritten rule somewhere that says that 300LBK's need to be suppressed? It seems like 95% of the guns in this thread have suppressors on them.

Nice! I have been wanting to do a 300 BLK build for a while now, and do not think I will be able to wait much longer.  Three questions:
How long is your barrel?  Pistol or Carbine gas length?  And have you run any sub-sonic loads through it yet?

barrel and ammo

no there isnt any unwritten rule,,,I cant legally get a suppressor here behind enemy lines, and mainly shoot supers for hunting anyways.

Well that's a Troy Alpha Rail, looks like the 13" no sight version. So I'm gonna say that's a 16" barrel with Carbine gas system due to the placement of the gas block being more forward.

There's no unwritten rule about it, but it does make it a lot more fun. Plus a lot of people use the same suppressor for multiple uppers.

I have run subs through it.. I am loading my own 208grain Amax and it cycles just perfect with 1680 powder...  It also cycles and locks back on the factory Horandy 300 whisper subs...

Had to go to a reduced power recoil spring to make it run perfectly... I suspect that I could actually go back to the normal spring that things have broken in...  It has the normal carbine buffer...

It is a Troy alpha rail but it has the front flip up sight...

The barrel is a wilson combat 16 inch barrel... Its carbine length...

I got mine to try it on the blackout and to use on my .308 bolt action....  Its really "movie quiet" with subs in the 308.....

300 blk just needs a nice optic to top it off. Palmetto upper and lower, palmetto build kit with geisselle SSA trigger, PRI gasbuster charge handle, Troy rail and stock, Ergo grip, GG&G bipod, and Noveske 16 inch barrel with matching bolt, sending tax papers tomorrow for AAC SDN6 and the wait begins.

Ok, that is just plain awesome. I've been planning to get a barrel for my Encore, but with it going to be a custom barrel it ain't gonna be cheap. Around $600 worth of barrel.

Stainless Shilen Select Match barrel blank
Full bull contour
16 1/4" length
Threaded with cap
And Matte (bead blasted) finish

Where did you get your barrel?

That is the Bergara barrel, 16.5", 5/8-24 threaded muzzle 1:8 twist.......If I was you, I would wait a few months untill Eagle View Arms releases their stub kits, then all you need is have your smith thread the barrel blank of your choice to thread into the stub. The stub prevents any heat damage that ALWAYS occurs when the lug is welded onto the barrel which is the #1 cause of some TC Encores being bad shooters. It is the greatest advancement in Encores since they were released, for that matter it is the greatest advancment for breakopen single shots in the type of guns history!  Eagle View Arms

There's a Bergara barrel on eBay right now, bid is at $250. Now that is very intriguing indeed. I'd definitely buy a handful of those. I wonder how long before they are released or back in stock. Thank you for that bit of information.

Supposedly in May they will be released, and they are usually spot on.

I got my Bergara barrel from sportsmansguide, it is the only retail outlet that carries them, Bergara doesnt even list them on their site. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/300-aac-encore-barrel.aspx?a=981937

Damn, that's cheaper than what Bellm asks for a custom chambered one BEFORE than actual chambering. Now you suck because I have to choose which direction I want to go .

Cool gun---you may want to consider putting the TLR up top and the BUIS behind it for purposes of ambidextrous operation.  You'll find the switch easily accessible with your thumb over the top.

No, you aren't wrong, it's probably a good idea to be discreet.
I'm not too worried though. Nothing's really secret these days.
