How did this thread get so many pages without a LEGP AR15.com RRA M4 from 2001?  I recognize the flashlight and mbus are not correct, but worth posting anyway.

Replace that MBUS with a matech or kac 300m and you're there!

Colt LE6920 lower & LE6921HB upper - 14.5 SOCOM barrel has a pinned/welded Ops brake for their 15th suppressor (awaiting stamp). SAS lower on the KAC RAS & the 553 doesn't budge - zero shift in POI.

The ops brake and collar is interesting on a carbine.  Not used to seeing it.  Sweet rifle!

It's just one of those things.  I'm trying to find a nice set of skinny Colt handguards.  They seem to be gold now.

Mike:

I got a really quick question: which ACOG is that on your rifle? I got a TA01NSN, a TA31RCO-M4CP, and just got a killer deal on a TA31H with the green horseshoe. One of the ACOG's was going to be moved to my AUG A3 CQC (can't afford a ELCAN Spector) and the Eotech 553 was moved to my Block II with DD FSP build. My Block I posted earlier has the TA01NSN, but I really like the TA31 series with the BDC. All AR's were Colt built with Colt 14.5" SOCOM barrels, so ballistics matches those published by Trijicon.

The ACOG on my issue m4 is a run of the mill TA31 with the red chevron. It exceeded my wildest expectations on ruggedness and usefulness.

My GLSSC wears a TA01NSN with a jpoint piggybacked.

The 14.5 Complete LMT up top isn't completely kosher, with the Larue rail and LT FUG.  But, the Complete LMT with 14.5 Colt SOCOM on the bottom is pretty much spot on.  Bottom rifle has a SF Scout on the other side, which won't be PR kosher.

I don't want to derail the thread, but how has it been? I'm thinking of either the MC Op or a Sig Traditional Tacops for my first 1911.

Stone nuts reliable.  SA is the only production 1911 pistols that I have anymore - not to say that others aren't reliable, but with their production offerings, customer service and warranty, I don't spend my money with anyone else.

Great pistol though.  I wouldnt hesitate to go MCO, If I were you.

My work in progress. Originally this rifle was going to stay like the top picture. I decided I wanted to towards a somewhat block I clone. The aimpoint is for inside the house, I will snap one with my ACOG later. I just got the KAC rail. So now I just need a matech rear, the proper light (this is just an extra surefire I had that Iv been using, don't even remember where it came from), and to finally send my barrel to adco for cut/pin down to 14.7.

I don't know,  Mike; the ACOG looks so at home on your rifle. I have an Aimpoint on one of my SBR's, and I got to tell you, I prefer the Eotech for a red dot system, my eye just picks it up better. I think the RMR would do everything you need for  CQB

I really like the ACOG.  I had one while deployed and really liked it.  The piggybacked MRD is ok. It works for what it is.  Im not selling because I dont like it.  More so to fund a scope for the MK12 and the Aimpoint works well for a patrol rifle.  Im not opposed to an EOtech but for the price, a PRO is tough to beat.

While I do love the ACOG on your rifle I think a Pro with a magnifier would be one hell of a setup for your uses.

If you have followed the evolution of the rifle, you would see that I have had a Compm2 on it before.  I really liked the setup and I have had CompM2's in the past.  The 4MOA dot is fast up close but I was just not finding the precision I wanted out of it.  The PRO is 2MOA and has the same profile as the CompM2.  I think im going to like it on there.  If I find that I need more distance (which I shouldnt given the rifle fills the role of a Close to medium range patrol rifle and doubles as my active shooter rifle) I will pick up a magnifier.  The PRO will go into a well used Wilcox mount and will fit the theme of the rifle well I think.

Im currently gathering parts to put together another MK12 Mod 1 So I think I have the medium to long range covered in that.
