Yes, good eye! The magpul sights on the M&P15-22 are fakes. Found that out too late and couldn't get a refund. But they still work fine.

Crappy cell phone pics, but  aside from a new high-end optic (my Comp M2 is a bit dated), my SBR build is where I want it to be. I love the new SLR rail, and I finally have the front grip configuration and placement that just feels right in my hands. It always seemed like I had the right grip, but improper placement. Or I had proper placement, but the grip itself didn't feel right, but now I've customized it to where it feel like I have optimal comfort and efficiency.

Here is my most recent build. M4 Palmetto Premium upper. The Lower is a Nat Mil with a Palmetto build kit. Troy Backup sites, Samson rail, and a leupold Mark AR 1.5-4 in an ADM mount. I really like this setup.

I like it! My favourite optic right now. I truly like the variable thing; and I do switch the "thing" back and forth (I only do range time, mostly indoors) and it is cool.

It's heavy. So, adding those two or three pieces of tacti-cool trick-out-ness that I like (as you see) ends up making me breath-heavy after a few shots fired (laughs).

But it's that I am massively out of shape. To someone in good shape, they won't feel the added burden.

And it is a superb and quality piece of hardware!

Another VCOG.   The optic is ok, one could probably use it as a hammer too.

However not as good as Swarovski's and the likes and as mentioned, heavy.

You should make a gun case that looks like those pizza boxes. Maybe paint up a storm case.

I have it how I like it, for now, and its a smooth, fast and accurate shooter and fits its purpose. Started as a budget build and on its way to something else.
How it sat before:
16" mid spikes barrel, bcg, buffer
Fortis rev
Griffin comp

Now, with new
Geissele ssa-e
Alg EMR m-lok
Geissele sgb
Ranier "slickside" upper
moe k2

Generation V OSS suppressor end cap.  If you're at SHOT, check em out and pick up a catalog. Their new stuff changes everything when it comes to signature reduction.

A-ha! Thanks brother.

Well, the funny thing is that I... was born in Dallas, TX (to Italian parents). Then left for about 46 years (coming back often though) and only 6 months ago I fled the "bella Italia" and established myself (with wife 'n'kids) in the oh-so sunny souther California.

Ain't leaving the country now.

I just want to be a good average American.

'Murica, f*ck yeah.

Thank you so much.

It feels so good to be back. By the way, I have seen much of the world (and almost all of Europe) and I concur with you: SoCal is one of the best places in the world I have ever seen.

Not only this, but also, I know now that the US (of A) is the best country to live in and be a Citizen of.

It's been a terrific lesson of life to see the differences in other parts of the world while growing up, and a rewarding prize to be able to move "Back" here in the Land Of The Free (which truly it is).
