ok i don't typically ask newb questions, as i'm pretty well versed. but here and there i see that mechanism that attaches to two bolts  /screws between the selector and bolt catch... what the heck is it?

fyi i googled like crazy but can't even think of proper search terms to find that.

EDIT: i found something... non-rotating trigger/hammer pin? still don't know what it does.

USAF Model 604 lower circa 2005. Quality companies don't have that issue.

Some semi lowers do need them, as I saw AR57 lowers that ovalled out too easily. Again, quality over...ick.

Wouldn't hurt but I don't think it would be necessary.

I would never diss any gun for having them it's just not something I would go out of my way to buy and install. If someone wants them for a little peace of mind then by all means go for it full auto or not. If I bought a gun with them already installed I wouldn't go out of my way to replace and/or remove them either.

Finally finished this to my satisfaction. Only things I could improve are NM sights and a hidden freefloat tube, but I didn't want to go over $750 and I'm there now.

If per chance you are referring to RJeff21 (you didn't quote the user) then a mesh laundry bag was used.

The OSS cans have a lot of benefits over many other cans on the market. They bring a lot to the table.

New Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 TMCQ MRAD in a Vortex branded ADM QD mount. I'm pretty happy with it. Was a great day to sight it in. 75 degrees, and barely any wind. (Maybe 1 mph partial value 7 o clock wind.)

Best group I got whilst sighting it it. Using Winchester factory 69 grain SMK BTHP rounds.
