Put it where you want it and run the gun. |

Just finished my first FDE AR (not my first build but my first FDE build)! I was getting tired of all my rifles being Black, don't get me wrong, black looks good, but after going through the post here, I was inspired and so I present, an FDE M4 build...its a great shooter, getting sub-MOA groups at 100yds thru an Eo-Tech! This is a personal carbine, built by me, for me, and not one built by my company for a customer. FYI - these were taken with my iPhone, my digi cam broke a few weeks ago, hadnt' had time to replace it yet

How do you like the umbrella grip? I have one on my current build but haven't shot it yet. Did it come fde? Thanks! I love the Umbrella grip, yes it came FDE, you can order them in Black, FDE, Foliage Green or OD Green, direct from Umbrella. I am a big proponent of Magpul products as well as parts that will make operating a weapon system easier and more comfortable (who isn't though?). The fact that Umbrella worked side by side with Magpul to design and produce this grip made me want to try it even more! I typically only use Ergo Suregrips and Magpul MIAD grips on all my personal builds, I will be swapping those grips out soon. The steeper angle of the Umbrella Grip 23 allows you to hold the weapon properly and I feel like it gives me better control of the trigger as well as better access to the bolt catch, mag release and safety (it could all be in my mind, but I felt that I had better control on the gun with the Umbrella Grip), not to mention, it just feels more natural. I actually felt awkward holding one of my other rifles after a day at the range with this one. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it as much I have, it is something everyone should check out. We started offering Magpul MOE K and K2 Grips on our customers builds, if you haven't had a chance to check out either of these grips, you should as well. They both have the same steep angle like the Umbrella, however the MOE K grip is also very slim...it's kinda cool, not sure how the functionality of it will fare in a real world situation as I have not had the chance to take a rifle with the MOE K grip to the range yet but, it feels like the slimness and overall smaller stature of the grip could be useful to those with smaller hands. The MOE-K2 grip on the other hand has the steep angle but is not slim, it is very similar to the Umbrella grip as far as measurements are concerned, but it allows you to use the MIAD Cores for storing extras within the grip. If you like the Umbrella Corp Grip, check out these other two as well, they are worth it! |
