PCR-00, I'm intrigued. What brand of lower are you using on that? I can't quite make out the markings...

Now I'm going to have to buy another OPS Inc. 12th model suppressor for this rifle, and paint it to match. I just don't know if I want to paint it FDE or OD...I'm so confused...

kemp,
It is a Douglas XX AG, 15" 1-8, mid length gas system, SPR profile I just got from Frank @ CLE. The balance is incredible.

mfingar,
Thanks. I just need to send you the rifle, so you can take some pics that will actually do it justice. Here's a pic to make you appreciate the build...

It came from RB Precision. They are a new dealer here, but I have been dealing with Rob & Krista for a long time and I highly recommend them. It is an oversized mag release. Here is the LINK. It's towards the bottom of the page. I have them on almost all my rifles.

This build is not finished.  When my mount and optic get here I'll mount the irons and put up a pic in the SPR/DMR pic thread.  But I think I can contibute to the FDE thread....although it's not nearly as sweeeet as many of the rigs posted within this thread....it is my first scrath build.

will 4oz of Duracoat finish an entire rifle?
Link Posted: 6/15/2007 9:34:42 PM EDT

If you take it apart and do it right, barely. If you just spray it assembled, you should only need to mix up 2oz. HTH.

YMMV,

Cant wait to get my FDE build done! Ordering everything in black (to save a little money) then going with the Aluma-Hyde II coating of the furniture and select few receiver parts!

Just did my RRA 9mm Middy A4 upper and AR lower in FDE last week. I still have to do my .223 upper. Magpul furniture has a couple thousand rounds through it, so it's a little dirty/darker.

I shoot the 9mm with an Aimpoint most of the time, but I'm not chancing it in the oven to cure the Norrell's Molly Resin in FDE.

So are FDE and tan the same thing?  Cuz my rifle is Tan molyresin :)

Norrels tan is a very, very close match to FDE.
If you use something like Duracoat, you will need to order FDE...

Okay..this upper is still a work in progress but here's a pic of how TD's FDE rail covers match up w/ Krylon Khaki....some of those ladder panels are OD (so there is no confusion)

Swapped some small parts around between guns, so that means picture time.

Thanks.  Not sure if I'm gonna MC the upper or just paint the lower the same color as the upper.    Decisions decisions.

My AR, I originally ordered a black CTR, but when it arrived it was FDE.  I really don't care what the rifle looks like or if it matches, so instead of sending it back I just installed it and called it good.

It only has a FDE stock and the sling is a Vickers in Coyote.  Sorry the whole rifle is not FDE.

Does Tango Down and Magpul's FDE match up well?

I really like the TD Battle Grip, but I want the Magpul CTR.

Mark,
When are you going to share the info on how to do the black lettering or did I just miss it?
