Mine has gone through a few phases....
When I first put it together: 
Then it spent some time like this: 
And now its got a brand new MI rail: 
Still thinking about putting the FDE stock back on and ill be getting a Spector GS-2P sling for it... |

Front Sight Pocket cut on JP/VTAC float tube, mid-length gas system (FSB does not touch handguard in any way). Old pics from 2008.

A more recent project. FDE Cerakote, baked-on. 16" M4 Nitro-carburized pipe, real Colt M16 bolt, Milspec carrier weight, TRX Extreme 13", AR Performance QD sling swivel socket, BCM Gunfighter, Vltor Clubfoot, GRSC 1-4x in ADM Recon. Gun runs like a champ through high-volume. No malfs after 400 rounds in about 2 hours.
I like Cerakoting the extension tube, lock ring, and receiver end plates. The stocks fit much tighter when you build up the Cerakote on the extension tube, giving a more solid feel to the blaster.

This is my only "FDE" rifle; glad I have been humble about it. Your set convinced me that, "no, you don't platform share...don't move the T1 from the SCAR to the OBR and think I am even close to cool (or accurate)!" What is your favorite scope for a 5.56, price restricted to between $800-$1K (mount included)...besides 'nothing available in that price point?'

Very Nice Rifle, vr6exy98.
I looked up Calguns Lowers a while back, I was told that some of the new manufacturer's in CA can get around the "button laws," as they ((if they) assembled your rifle) make some very nice rifles. What do they end up charging for such a rifle - I just picked up a LaRue OBR 5.56 that with options came to over $3K, easily. My SCAR was also about $3K with no options, but I have had to keep separate magazines for the two 5.56 rifles because of the bolt impingement. a pita, for sure. The twisted barrel is a beautiful design, both in concept and execution; I didn't know how one was secured, outside of buying an LWRC. Well, that is quite a set up. Thanks for showing the pics. |

You are correct! Being my first build I was literally shooting in the dark regarding iron sights. Took it to an indoor range and didn't line up at all. Raised the FBS to the max and still shooting high. Will be upgrading to a red dot as soon as we get through a couple months of mortgage. New home owner, Holla!

I installed the Battle Arms Development improved bracket for the MaTech rear sight. The new one is attached and the old one is above in the pic
Also trying a Daniel Defense front sight for a week or two.

Broke the SR07 so I think I'm switching back to standard tail caps on all of my rifles and leave the switches for the PEQ 15 when I use it.
