Jeffro- at least keep the PR w/ Elcan? That was the one of my favorite setups on this whole forum. Your non cloneage is killin me!

You done killt your clone family, killt it.

Check out the VCOG as well. Although I already gave you an in depth write up regarding both the Mk6 1-6x and VCOG per your request a little while back. I'm sure you are making your decision based on your specific needs, as they both have their benefits. Regardless, they are both superior all around optics to the Elcan. I recently picked up an SU-230 primarily because clone status/'merica, and since I already have two VCOGs.

I don't blame you on your 14.5" changes at all. This is why I've focused primarily on 10.3s when it comes to clones. While there are certainly lighter options to pair with a 10.3" barrel, it's really damn hard to argue against the durability and badassness of the MK18 RIS II.

With the 14.5s, it's much tougher to justify IMO. I still love my Block II, but I grab my KMR equipped 14.5" so much more often. I'm actually turning it into a "Block III." Tossed a keymod FDE TangoDown VFG on it, tan M300B, and an SF SOCOM muzzle device on it. Will run my tan SOCOM RC on it when it's approved. All the other accessories are "correct/accepted" as well. Will essentially be a Block II, just with a KMR. Love that rig. It feels lighter than most 11.5s even though it's a 14.5. And is also the softest shooter I have on top of it. Everyone falls in love with that one.

Honestly, the main thing leading me to the Mk6 is price.  I'm hoping to either trade into the Mk6 with a little cash on top, or sell it and pick up one via Leupold's Mil/LEO program, which is pretty damn good.

I'd prefer the VCOG, I just don't want to spend $2k+ on one.  If DSG were to run that $1500 VCOG sale again, I'd be all over it.

Pic thread (whole lots of FDE in this one ):

Yeah. Leupold's mil/leo program is pretty dang solid price wise. I can tell you that it can take them a damn long while at times to finally ship through those programs though...so be warned.

VCOGs can still regularly be had new or like new for under $1800. I wouldn't weigh it out. If your Elcan is marked like this...

...you still may be able to trade it for a VCOG plus cash. Even if it's a civi Elcan, I'd still think you could find a similar trade with the right person.

Sorry. Love me some Mk6, but really love me some VCOG.

Definitely fits the bill (trigger guard)

I've never been much of a fan of billet receivers, but that gun/receiver set is damn nice. Now if the man would just buy a few 203's already for shits sake, I think his collection should be nearing completion.

It's the PSA 12" - excellent upper (FN CHF) and I pulled / shaved the FSB to toss the centurion on there. Can't stress how satisfied I am with it.

I really need to do a 12.5.

I'm still just waiting on Stickman to sell me his GL/SSC handguard though...

It's the PSA 12" - excellent upper (FN CHF) and I pulled / shaved the FSB to toss the centurion on there. Can't stress how satisfied I am with it.

12" barrel with 10" handguard?

I'm finally gonna be doing a 12.5" rig. Already have a 10.75" KAC URX 4 on the way.

New project...stock, grip, and trigger come tomorrow. All that's left is to figure out a barrel.

ETA completed rifle. Spike's 16" barrel, Spike's BCG, ALG ACT, Hogue, Magpul...

Had the week off, so I finally sat down and finished this one.
