My first AR build in about 2 years, over 30th overall, has some FDE parts and a lower.  It was attempt at a light weight gun, coming in at just under 6 lbs unloaded.

Got an EXPS3-0 for my CQBR project and it looked too good on my FDE gun so now it's staying.

Yep, it's my only non NFA length barrel at 16". I shoot under 300 at my range though so it doesn't make a difference for me. 0-100 has markers and 200 / 300 is steel.

I actually had a 1-6x on this one before and just didn't like it, we'll see what I do with it in the future though.

Building a Dr. Evil/Mini Me thing. Getting closer to totally finished. I will probably not bother SBRing though, so no matching stock.

Hell, our washer and dryer don't even match. Got a free washer that my boss was going to toss since they replaced both. It's all fancy and shit. I went to look for a dryer to match it and they start at $1,200. I told her that we can live with mismatched appliances.

Yeah, the prices on appliances these days is outrageous.  Fancy though, all computerized, and probably smarter and faster than my outdated and also retro laptop.

The washer was $1,400-something. It senses the weight of the load and adjusts the wash cycle accordingly. Even has a steam function so you can de-wrinkle if needed. Has 8700 adjustments and shit. He was just going to toss it since he replaced them both. Thing is maybe 3 years old.

To keep the thread on track

Hot Damn!  That is a fightin' rifle.

What is that mounted to the front of your ACOG?
NM: answer up above.  Guess I wasn't the only one wondering.

nice, looks almost like a Golden Rifle, suitable for Saddam Hussein!

is the upper the same color as the lower?  in the pic, the color shades look slightly different, but could be the lighting.  are the upper & lower cerakoted?  if so, do you know the Cerakote color numbers H-????  I'm thinking of doing something similar.

thanks!

Thanks.  The upper, lower and receiver extension are all anodized FDE and were from a limited run of Colt 6920s from probably 5 years ago and I believe there were 200 units released.  All components have a slightly different shade & tint of FDE which is typical when anodizing different parts and different batches.  This is why companies like LWRCi stopped offering anodized rifles and went with cerakote instead as people were complaining about the color difference.  FN SCAR is a great example of FDE color variations.  FN currently offers an FDE carbine (FN-15 Tactical FDE) that has anodized receivers and I plan on snagging one at some point.

Cheers

Not the best picture but all I have for now. Just received/installed a LaRue MBT trigger - need to take it out on my range this weekend. Waiting for shipment of a Magpul FDE MLOK Bipod.
