I need a wood stock to original military specifications and blueprints, except I need a Monte Carlo grip. I know you guys have the Timbersmith line, and I feel that could make a hefty chunk of cashola for you. Shouldn't be hard to fabricate a couple thousand in a few days.
No. The whole thing, no. Original military specifications AND blueprints? What does that literally mean? Anyway, most people buying a $90-$150 rifle aren't looking to spend hefty chunks of "cashola" on another stock. Poly stocks are a different story. Production and material cost is exponentially lower than with wood. Poly stocks are injection molded. Wood essentially gets C&C machined into their shape. Then sanded. Then sanded some more. Maybe sanded again. Mostly by hand as not to round off detail areas. For better info on what it really takes to make a wood stock from scratch, look at Ironwooddesigns.com. They make nice wood stocks, but even a low end one would cost more than a Mosin.

#1, lose the attitude. Some of us want something like this.
#2, I mean it would replace the original wood in its entirety, including covering the barrel and making use of the retaining rings, hence original spec and blueprints, blueprints being the original design for the 1891/30.
#3, screw the cost, I want to be able to shoot my rifle more effectively, and I am not about to put polymer on a Mosin, because that just looks like trash.
#4, TAPCO could make money off of this, because people who want something like this WILL pay for it, since most of us lack the tools, time, and materials to make it ourselves.
#5, the price point would be along the lines of the SKS stocks, being generally a similar amount of material, with mildly less machining and handling, as there would be a Monte Carlo style instead of a thumbhole style.
Lose the attitude? Are you judge Judy?

This is TAPCO's Industry Partner subforum, not General Discussion. Please stay off of this thread unless it is pertinent to the matter in the OP. No trolling, no attitude.
I would like for Damiean to see this, I believe it to be a good idea, that can generate revenue greater than startup cost.

My first reply was in fact pertinent to the OP. It just pointed out the reality of what you want, and apparently you can't handle criticism. So because I disagree with your idea, its trolling? Sounds pretty insecure to me. As far as I know, responses can be made in the industry subforum from people other than that specific industry rep or the original poster. What a joke. I hope to have no other run-ins with you, I don't want you to use up all you fascism on me.
Thread derailed, punching out. Hope to still get some thoughts from the Tapco people, rather than being trolled.
The Mosin-Nagant stock probably won't happen, we've looked into it and there were actually several different receiver shapes, so the 'bed' area would need to be different depending on which type you have. The other negative about this project is that there's not much else to be desired for a MN, and we've found it's better to make a multiple product offering for any given rifle platform rather than to crank out a few odd ball parts here and there. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope that explains it.

Well, it was definitely a much more informed response than the earlier ones.
I suppose I will have to get a wooden sporter stock and attempt to fabricate my own with the assistance of a woodshop.
