It is a spike's marked BDM mag with cracked feedlips. Any idea?
Simple Answer: Absolutely. They always have...
Yep. Kevin even offered to replace mine after I used solvent on them.

thats good to know . I've got several gen one mags and they have started having rounds pop out the top of the mags on occasion due to feed lip problems . these were some of the first mags made as I had to file the top of the mag and trim some of the spring lengths to get them all to work 100% .
I planed on getting some of the SS lipped , glass filled bodied mags . Looks like I may be in for a good # as I like companies that stand behind thier product . I'd more than understand if there was some kind of prorating on mags as old as mine too .
BDM's just a great company... Never heard of any pro rating going on.
Mine cracked at about 10,000 rounds. Yours sounds like feed lip wear.
Any idea how many rounds they've made?

not sure . I've run them in a semi for the last couple of years . Before that they were in a post sample m16 for testing a suppresor that I designed . Today I went through 700rds or so just plinking at the range . I'm guessing 10 to 12k in some mags , some may not have 1/3rd that as I don't rotate them out , I just pick one up load it and shoot . They show some serious wear where the case rim has worn the plastic down from feeding . All are cracked at the screws that hold the 2 halves together . One today emptied itself while I was holding it ( a friend at the range got a good laugh as I had just loaded it and was standing there talking ) . Some of the lips are much more cracked than others .
Still, they've always stood behind their magazines. E-Mail Racheal and get things started...
BDM's a fine company and stands behind their products more than any average company.
They deserve customer loyalty for that... Good Luck.

Will do . Either way I need some new mags as these are getting at the end of their usable life
I have one Gen II magazine that has a small crack on the left feed lid towards the front of the magazine. I just noticed it today.
Son of a gun... I tossed one of my mags that cracked figuring since it was just a $20-25 magazine, which I consider a wear part, they wouldn't replace it. Good thing I kept the 2nd one that I found with a feed lip crack. Guess I'll be calling them.
BDM goes way Above and Beyond when it comes to replacing their products
when they break. Absolutely one of the top companies in this world....

Totally agree with this. They've proven to me again over the past couple days of e-mails that they are *very* customer-satisfaction oriented. They're awesome.
