Official date the USAMU opened the US Army's modern Sniper School.

Was it around 1986-'87?

From what I was told by Rangers and SF that came through my classes in '85-'86,
the USAMU had various marksmanship programs but no Sniper corriculum at all.

And, that the Instuctor billets would be appointed by the USAMU from recent @ 24
months of graduates from Quantico and Division Schools.

Would/could someone explain to me how an Army Commissioned Officer
could have gone through USAMU Sniper School in OCT,1978?

Only thing I can see is that maybe they transposed the last two digits....78.....87.
