I know there is one for the 6940. brownlls sells it and has been for well over a year that has nothing to do with the fact there there is no aftermarket tool for taking the barrel off the 901 |

Yes, I am looking for a LE901, however, I not willing to take out a second mortgage. Not opposed to a REASONABLE mark-up, but come on. Some of the prices I've seen are just stupid. I am in OK. Please advise if you can help.

If its it's already marked up too high I wolnt even buy it! I wish I had the shop info that had 3 of them on the table for 2300! But I did not think of it till after I left the show! I would rather you guys not do all that in this thread. arfcom has some pretty strict views on buying/selling/anything with money being exchanged in some place not the EE please discuss this stuff privately and please, no more buy/sell talk in here. its going to get this locked and you in trouble with site staff |

So What's the latest from Colt on the Mag well adapters for those of us that want one? I talked to someone who spoke with a Colt rep at the SHOT show, and he gave me some info. Just trying to see if anything had been put out officially.

Its usually 2-3 days before she emails me back. But I will post up what I am told, If I am told its ok to share it |

Has anyone bought a Bayonet for their 901? I was looking at the Ontario 493 M9 bayonet, it says it will fit a M-16, M4 and AR-15. Colt has no information on a compatible size so I am not sure if this would fit correctly.
For those that are wondering, looking to poke a potential dead hog or snake among other things. |

Thanks for the pictures and update on the Bayonet. Would you believe that I called Colt customer service and they could not give me an answer on what would work with the 901. Customer Service told me to send them an email with the question and they would forward on to R&D to find out; funny.

Hey, first post here. Hopefully this is the right place for this, if not I apologize. I bought an LE901 at a gun show about 6 months ago. Not only is it my first AR, it's also my first rifle so I am trying to learn as fast as I can, and I want to thank everyone for this thread because it has been invaluable during my research to find the rifle I wanted and after having the gun as well. I paid $2700 for the gun, new in box. I think I overpaid a little, but I love the rifle and don't regret buying it, especially with the craziness now. I have only been able to put 120 rounds through it (100 of which were Herters brand steel cased), but everything worked great with no malfunctions so far.
Anyways, I have some pics that you all might like. http://i.imgur.com/jWQMFfYh.jpg Scope is a Burris Fullfield Tac30 http://i.imgur.com/vMYp6ghh.jpg With my only other Colt, a Series 80 Gold Cup National Match http://i.imgur.com/abxib5ah.jpg http://i.imgur.com/J6rckjUh.jpg Close up of Magpul grip, which I had to Dremel a lot off the "upswept beavertail" part (for lack of better term) to get to fit http://i.imgur.com/HKp5xxG.jpg Again, hopefully this is the right spot for this. Thanks again for the wealth of information in this thread, and let me know what you think of the rifle or any suggestions. |

You can scan the QR code on the end of the shipping box to get your rifle's pack date.
Mine was 8/12/2012 with SN in the high 800 range. Incidentally, shooting this weekend with irons only, the 901 was dead on steel at 100 yards with DAG. No adjustment to the sights apart from adding loctite after the screw started backing out. Also contacted Colt yesterday about the missing roll pin for the ambi mag release. Didn't notice it missing until I did a muzzle up reload and the magazine wouldn't seat. Without the rollpin at the pivot point on the ambi release, the release falls out of it's groove and lodges the mag catch in the 'out' position. |

I have a 901 on order. Really want to get a SBR FDE model, but guess that will have to wait.

Well I finally got around to picking my 901 up last weekend. I did not get a chance to shoot it yet since my first born decided he wanted to come in the same day but that is fine with me. I have been home this week with the wife and son, re-read the thread and figured I would mention a few things I have figured out thus far:
1. The Magpul MOE + and regular MOE don't work due to the back. I am not sure if I am going to work one out or just get a Tango Down pg. 2. I had thought about using a FDE Troy BUIS but after reading I saw that there was a difference in heights. Sure enough, it is. Glad I read that before swapping it out and wasting ammo. 3. I found a DPMS metal mag in a bunch of FAL mags that I have. The mag fits in the receiver and locks the bolt back without any problems. I know this is only one mag but someone mentioned the C=Product mags fitting tight. Maybe a mag/rifle combo that works but don't take it for anything except that this one works thus far. 4. I popped a Magpul STR stock on the tube, and it was ok but it doesn't lock up near as tight as I would like. I have this STR on my 6721R and it is tight when the pressure lock is pressed tight. I may try the Colt Rogers stock that I have in the parts box since I really want a tight fitting stock. The VLTOR one is tight but not tight enough. Right now I have a Leupold Hog in a LaRue mount. I also have a Comp M4 that I could throw on their. What power optic do you think best suits a 16" CL mil-spec brl? I will try to get some pics up here real soon but the young one is taking a lot of my time lately which is fine Besides, this will be his rifle along with a few other Colt's |

Secondly I'm about to buy some quality glass. And some bad news, at least for me. Secondly I'm really leaning towards the http://www.laruetactical.com/scope-us-optics-sn-4-15-6x-dfp-and-lt104-30-qd-scope-mount What about the marine digi? Btw I'm sure many will fde their own 901s anyhow! |

I suppose not because they are unlikely to be able to take out the barrel as I imagine would be required. what would it matter? they dont want to offer a FDE 901. maybe they dont think it would sell. maybe they got their hands full with all the stuff they are trying to get out maybe they want to sell something new more and dont want something distracting from it. who knows. They just have no plans for offering up a 901 as it is right now. something has made them think there is not a high enough demand for it. just like the LE1020. not enough people wanted it. just like th AR15A4 is very likely to be a lot of people saying they o=would buy one if they ,make it, but once its actually for sale. all those people will suddenly find a reason to not buy it. like , it has M4 feed ramps and the M16A4 doesnt... You can see excuses all ready popping up from guys who swore on right nuts, that they would buy a colt A4 factory clone if they would just make the thing damn it!!. |

Maybe you misunderstood me. I recognize that Colt is busy and is trying to be in tune with what will sell. They don't need to make FDE 901's right now b/c every black one sells right away.
What I was trying to ask is if there is some place that one could take their factory black 901 and get it comparably FDE'd (yeah, that's a verb ). I just don't know if there would be tech issues as I don't know how disassembled the rifle would have to be and I imagine it may take special tools. |

It's anodizing. So it's the same process just another color I suppose and all the steps that go with re anodizing and the draw backs like making the Fcg pin holes change

I'd for sure pick up a fde because they are sexy! Fde right now is a very very hot buying trend! If they don't sell, it's a missed opportunity they missled out on. Look at the costa rifles , look at all other fde, they are big sellers bc the whole afghan/Iraq. Best wood camo is a hot sell to any wanna be tactical sf cats! Besides that I think fde is a amazing look and xolornesp if annodized! Like Im very jealous when ever I see fde rifles they look so nice and blend in so well, when I look at a black rifle I want to spray it with Krylon, when I look at a fde I think, Jesus, don't scratch that work of art! I have to agree about missing out on the FDE. I would like to have a FDE but it looks like painting maybe the only way to get that without messing up tolerances on the receiver and such. I am not sure what will happen, probably end up shooting the crap out of it and as time goes on it will get a Kyrlon scheme |

2013 Configuration??
Just saw a picture of a box label that had "2013 Config" on it. Did Colt make any configuration changes to the 901 for the new year? |
