Packing up the car and getting ready to leave in the a.m. Long ride back to Florida. My wife got this guy last night around 7PM. She had passed on a smaller bear around 6PM. This was about a 45 yard shot with her Marlin 30-30 using Hornady LeveRevolution 160gr. Hit him right below the neck and he dropped right there. I had hoped to get it on video but my view was obscured. The guide figured he weighed about 200#. Not real big but about the norm for this area. The outfitter skinned him out today and the taxidermist is picking it up tomorrow to do a head mount for her. His coat was pretty thin in several parts from tree scratching so that kind of put the "kabosh" on a rug. All and all, it was a great trip. Can't wait to come back.

That's awesome, congratulations to your wife on the bear. Congratulations to you on having a wife that will shoot a bear.
