I would like to move to Kentucky for a number of reasons, and hopkinsville kind of caught my fancy.  I plan to live on the outskirts, maybe in a small town just outside the city.  I'd like to know about the following

Cops: friendly or dicks?  Do they assume you're a criminal?  Do they treat vets with extra respect?

People: Easy going, nonjudgemental, rednecks?

VA clinic:  How good is it?  How fast can you get an appointment, do they seem like they know what they're doing?

VFW/Legion:  Public or not?  How often are they open?

Ranges/gunshops: how many are there, how good are they?  Is there a reasonably priced indoor range for the winter (assuming it snows there)

Paintball:  There any good fields nearby?

Groceries:  There any non chain grocery stores that are any good?

Taxis/buses: are there any? how expensive/fast are they?  how late do they run?

Traffic:  How bad is it?  Does rush hour get gridlocked?

Anything else that may be helpful in making a decision would be great.
