What's his rate?  I'm sure they will be more apt to take some rates than others (those like EOD with cross-service schools are probably easiest).

should be no problem,  he will probly still have to go thought basic training, more then likely they will send him to fort sill because he is prior service.

Is he trying to go active Army or Reserves/NG? I was looking to go active Army a couple years ago and all they were accepting was E-4 and below to enlist under 18 series. Obviously Reserves and National Guard are much different.

Why is he getting out of the Navy? I would think the HM rate would be good to be in. Has he considered going green side before getting out completely?

I thought I had read recently that the USMC wants to create their own field medics and get rid of the need for Navy Corpsman support.

He will more than likely have to go 18x(special forces candidate, goes to infantry osut then on to the pipeline), if he doesnt make it he'll go to the 82nd, 173rd, or 25th in alaska.  Just the route prior service guys have to go.  Most of the guys I have seen go this route immediately regret their decision to switch branches.

Mostly depends on if he wants to go Active or Guard. Guard he should be fine but will goto basic again. Active I don't know.

This will all depend on what the Army is needing at the current time.  Been out of recruiting for about a year now so my info is dated, seemed like a change came out each day, but normally for E4 and below there were always openings for a few select MOS's on the Active side.  If they don't meet the MOS requirements then they fall to the needs of the Army and for when I was there it was either 18x or one of the 25/35 series can't remember which.  Your son will have to get with a recruiter to find out what is available at this time, if they are needing medics I believe all he will need is to attend basic and then will get orders to a duty assignment.

EOD is way overstrength right now for 10/20 levels.  I doubt he could come in off the street into it.
