He will be able to keep them at his home off base. It is really only an issue if you are in the barracks or BOQ.

If he lives on base in base housing, he can keep them in his house but must register them with PMO. If he lives in the barracks it is rough.

It has been a while since I was stationed there as Security Bn was my last duty station. The best place to check is the Base Order for that. Being he is living off Post it won't be an issue.
Edit- The Base order was already given to you. |
