So I played pool with a former navy seal the other night... A few holes in his story... Correct me if I'm wrong.

He starts off that he was in Vietnam, 74 to 76. I was pretty sure that we were out by then so I kind of threw that out. Then he was a seal... Now I'm thinking... Weren't they called udt back then? Then I'm pretty sure he said something about the 9mm 1911s that they carried and I was pretty sure that we were wading in pretty deep at this point.

So I guess he was a plank owner in the first seal team during a 2 year hitch in the navy and they were assigned to take back Saigon after the fall with custom weapons.

Why can't people just say they were a cook on a tin can for 2 years just after Vietnam?

-April 30, 1975 - At 8:35 a.m., the last Americans, ten Marines from the embassy, depart Saigon, concluding the United States presence in Vietnam.

-The U.S. Navy SEALs were established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 as a small, elite maritime military force to conduct Unconventional Warfare.

- 9mm pistol issued to SEALs during Vietnam war. The Model 39 was used by Naval Special Warfare units during the Vietnam War.[3] The Model 39 was issued to officers-in-charge (OICs) of MST-2 detachments as their sidearm. SEAL Teams used either the Model 39 without modification or a modified version, the Mk 22 Mod 0, which was called the "hush puppy".[3] The modified pistol had a suppressor with a slide lock (which kept the slide from moving backwards upon firing, thereby decreasing produced noise) The Mk 22 Mod 0 also had raised iron sights, to provide easier sighting over a bulky suppressor. The gun's purpose was to eliminate sentry dogs or guards without alarming the main target
