We should set up a 'swear jar' for Shung.. $5 in it every time he says something nice about Seb next year. I think it might be a good move for Seb though, a change in scenery helped Hamilton immensely, here's to hoping that the same thing happens. So Mclaren's actually going to get Alonso? Any confirmation yet? I'm surprised Fernando is holding his nose to work for Ron Dennis. Guess it MIGHT be different this time, as Dennis isn't sitting there at the pitwall, and I respect the hell out of Eric Boullier as a manager.. he made Renault/Lotus a contender for a couple of years. Due to max quote block, Part 2: FIA is going to FIA. Apparently it was proposed but declined. I hope it's crazy rainy but not so rainy the race is stopped. 2011 Canada was stopped but restarted and one of the best races ever. 2012 Malaysia was stopped but resumed. 2009 Malaysia race was stopped and not resumed, half points awarded. Let's not have that happen. As people probably know by now I like the crazy stuff to happen. Sure it messes up fantasy predictions but it's fun. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Do you guys think they'll get this race in? It sounded ominous. IDK why, knowing there is a huge storm coming, they wouldn't rearrange the schedule to have the race on Saturday. Seems like common sense to me, but it happens a lot here in FL when a hurricane is coming. FIA is going to FIA. Well, race begins at 3pm local, so of course, if they have a delay, or they red flag it, it'll never start. I'm gonna go ahead a predict a complete wash out. They will do a few laps behind the safety car to "begin" the race, then they'll cancel it due to darkness, award half points, and go on to Russia. The FIA is so bullish, and stuck in their ways about schedules, they don't really give a damn about the fans, just making things work to the rules. |

next year Vettel and Alonso in Ferrari ?
Kimi at Mclaren ? that would be mind blowing nah, Alonso is a goner. just hope he can win ONE more race in red. tomorrow with rain all over the place could make it possible |

Race better not get cancelled! Or worse 2 laps under the safteycar for the start, and half points. It will be completely the FIAs fault in either scenario, you can't get much more notice of a storm coming. |

Hello everybody. Just wanted to check in. 3.5 til the lights go out. Watching football and drinking whiskey to stay awake.
Anyways, glad Vettel announced the move now, so I didn't spend money on a Red Bull shirt for the S/O to wear to Austin |

Build up is starting on Sky if anyone else is awake.
Crap weekend here.. Wifes Grandmother died, so we have to do the whole funeral thing on Monday, and I'm just in a monstrously shitty mood and can't sleep so its F1 night/morning. PS> FIA is not responsible for not moving the race forward, they asked twice.. it was the promoter's (Honda's) call. Pretty damn wet though, even 1.5 hours before. |

Just looked it up, but sunset at Suzuka is 5:32PM, and the scheduled race start time in 3PM. If the race doesn't start on time, I don't see it happening at all. I am giving it until 1AM CDT, and if no racing, I am bagging it.

If this is only a few laps under safety car then half points than this could have huge world championship implications.
It would also mess up everybody's pick for "most positions gained." |

So Vettel is confirmed for a seat that isn't officially vacant. You gotta' love silly season. View Quote Okay, so let's hear your silliest predictions. 1) Fernando isn't gone, Raikkonen is. Ferrari wanted to hold off on the news so Raikkonen wouldn't check out like he did at Lotus so the Alonso rumor mill is spinning to keep him in the car and actually trying for the rest of the year. Next year Big Red will be Vettel and Alonso. 2) Fernando is going to be the lead driver for Haas' F1 team. He's taking a year off to drive WEC at Porsche with his BFF Mark Webber because he's always wanted to race at Le Mans. The WEC schedule would also free him up to help develop the car. He's still a Ferrari guy with their sister team. What do you have? FYI not raining at the moment, cars headed onto the grid. |

Kimi and Seb are friends, Alonso and Seb don't particularly like each other. Seb and Alonso on the same team just seems like playing with fire to me.. and Ferrari tend to have a very definite pecking order with their drivers. 2) Definite possibility.. I won't be surprised if Alonso takes a year off to let all the manufacturers get the bugs out of the engines, and then he will know where everyone falls in the pecking order. |

More realistically, Alonso looks for a one year contract somewhere before getting a seat with Mercedes in 2016. Everyone knows what he wants, there's only one team that can let that happen right now. |

If the races ends under the SC, Rosberg would have a .5 pt lead over Hamilton.
