Raikkonen's first lap for Ferrari only lasts a few corners before the F14 T comes to a stop. Red flag.

Better now than later ;)

This is how I see it..

I was ways complaining that Ferrari wasn't doing anything new or revolutionary. Always trying to catch up with RB or Mercedes..

Well. This year, with their nose, they got something original and out of the ways...  Let's hope it's a winning choice. At least they did try something
Can't blame them

Meh, it's different, but I'm pleased. They don't sound worse than current Indy cars.

Every time there's an engine switch we hear complaints. I think these sound very throaty, and at the start they will sound like a pack of tigers. Also, all of the turbo sound is cool to hear.

With all of these different approaches to front wing design it's going to be an interesting season up to the summer break. I hope we have another 2012 season with a bunch of different winners.

Of the "dong" cars, I think the McLaren takes the cake.

The Toro Rosso is the most dong-like.

Non-dong, Red Bull.

The Caterham is probably my favorite just because it looks crazy. I hope Marussia has something nifty in their garage. We'll see tomorrow!

So...if you hated the last few years of strategic, non flat out racing.....you are really going to hate the new formula.

Sebastian Vettel:

If you drive like last year you won’t see the chequered flag. That much is fact. Racing will change. Full throttle looks like a thing of the past.

We shall see, but I kind of welcome the resource use vs speed equation. It's a whole new form of very complicated racing. Chess instead of checkers.

Great.  A formula of ugly, nasty sounding cars nursing shit-tires and running half-throttle to save gas.

Bernie's depositions are going to be more interesting.

I always thought of Boullier as a somewhat sleazy character, but after reading more about him this week and seeing how highly the F1 community rates him...I now respect the hell out of the guy.

On a related note, the Lotus ship is sinking fast.

Rumor has it that Whitmarsh is going to Lotus. He didn't do much for McLaren so maybe he will kill off Lotus.

I have a hard time seeing that.  Ross just left Mercedes due to the 'Too many cooks' factor, I can't see him signing up for the 'Too many cooks + Ron Dennis' experience.

Ross returning to Ferrari would be more likely, IMO.  James Allison runs design and Ross replaces Domenaceli as a direct report to Luca.

...for the most part, a lot of them might be short shifting...  especially if they are testing 'race trim' because these cars and tires cant survive balls out.

the exhaust note as described by the injection method is based on injector timing not so much where the injector is .  i actually made what is essentially a strait pipes car quiet by dicking with injection timing

I'm going to wait and reserve my judgment on the sound until they get things a bit more figured out.

At this point they are patting themselves on the back if they can successfully stay out on track for more than a few laps. Very early days and they haven't even begun to lean on the cars yet.

wow what a nice move

wonder how much money this will cost them

but it should sure be interesting if he would go to Lotus (R.B.)
