I had a team from 3rd MSOB where I was in Afghanistan and they all wore that patch. I never knew what it was, and I'm seeing Army guys wearing it too. I'm currently listening to Richard J. Meadows's book on Audible. Unbelievable list of accomplishments and achievements within the Special Operations community. Rest in peace, Dick.  Dick Meadows (third from left) and his RT Ohio, MACV-SOG, FOB 2 (CCC), Kontum, RVN, circa 1967.   Served as an artilleryman in Korea, helped pioneer MFF/HALO, served with Bull Simons in Laos in WHITE STAR, ran recon in SOG, had a leading role in the Son Tay Raid, and helped found SFOD-D. Was awarded a DSC, two SSMs, and BSM with V among other awards and qualifications. Oh and he made MSG at the ripe age of 20 years old.  |
