Forget birdshot.  That calls for semi-auto buckshot, grenades, and/or application of napalm.

I can actually see the point.  Ever go out to dinner with someone who is "gluten free"?  They bring their own bread, and often won't eat anything off the menu because the restaurant can't guarantee it doesn't have wheat in the ingredients somewhere.

It's like a religion, only their Communion wafer is made of rice flour.

I've got a friend who's had to stop eating gluten because his girlfriend has a reaction when he kisses her.  This is a really sweet girl too, and I really doubt she's making it up.

Gluten Free is First World Problem BS.  I can't stand it.

I have 3 crews of mexican roofers who work for me.  I go out and buy them lunch on occasion.  Never once in 3 years have I heard "I'm allergic to..." or "I have a gluten allergy..." etc...  Never.  They eat and are grateful.

With the crap diet most people live on, they become much more sensitive to things that would normally not cause them problems.

It's more the case that 3rd world/poor kids who have have severe allergies don't make it to adulthood or aren't healthy enough to sneak in across the boarder and work construction.  In the US if a kid has a severe allergic reaction ambulances are called, drugs are administered, tests are done.  In rural Mexico? The coffin is cheaper because it is smaller.

Not commenting on the practicality of the dating site...but I'd venture my undeucated opinion that the bulk of the 'glutenites' (or whatever they call themselves) are the same as a large majority of people that suffer from the other 'hot' diseases....depression, ADHD, Fibromyalgia, or the ones with kids that have 'autism spectrum', etc......there are a LOT of people who don't have the problem/disease and just want to blame their woes on something....and the far smaller number that truly suffer from the diseases are screwed because of public perception of the hypochondriacs.

Now...

Gluten allergy is a completely manufactured condition.  For thousands of years mankind has been eating wheat and things made from wheat.  Can you explain to me and the rest of the sane world why all of a sudden in the past 10 years there has been an epidemic of people allergic to gluten?  Please be sure to explain why this epidemic is pretty much exclusive to the United States?

I can tell you.  It is because we have more dollars than sense.  We have mothers who coddle their children and run them to the ER or Sloan Kettering every time their child has a sniffle.  We treat our children as if every one of them is the next Albert Einstein and Jesus hybrid when they are really just spoiled rotten kids.

The kids in turn think they are the next coming of Christ and heaven forbid they have a loose bowel movement.  It must be cancer or a dreaded disease right?  If not a deadly disease, it must be some horrible, never seen before condition.  After all, these kids are special, they don't get normal illnesses.

Combine that with a medical system where doctors cater to these kids and mothers because they are dependent upon placating them so they don't lose patients and income, we get exactly what we are discussing.

All of the above can be summed up by saying "First World Problems."

It's called Sciliacs disease (sp?) look it up... But probably will be hard due to spelling...

My idiot brother says he's gluten-sensitive.  I call him a giant vagina.  My friends wife has Sciliacs and had to go to the hospital because she ate something with wheat in it by mistake.

Okay, some of you will find this funny. My nephew is one of those guys who will buy/trade for/sell/acquire anything. Jeeps, firearms, exotic animals (he has four land tortoises that he got when they were small--now they're the size of Volkswagens.)  One of his last acquisitions was a pair of emus. (The feed store owner was giving them away.) So he's stuck with these big-assed birds, not knowing a thing about them. (He frightened one to death when it got out and he chased it down.)

He built a pen for the birds and all was well... including some of the best damn omelets I've ever had.

Now I told you that story so I could tell you this one.

My sister is out visiting. She was talking to him on the phone and he gave her the bad news: One of her horses died. He'd taken care of burying it and all was well... but sis now has only one horse, who will get lonely. They got onto the subject of what to get the horse to keep it company: a burro, a mule, a goat...

I looked at my brother and, in my best imitation of Nephew, said, "Hey Mom, I got a REALLY GREAT deal on a baby rhinoceros! He's PERFECT to keep your horse company, and he even eats the same stuff!"

Then I broke into the I want a hippopontamus for Christmas song.

Bullshit!  Today's wheat, corn, beets and other crops are nothing like the wheat your great-grandparents ate.  In fact, it is probably a "first world problem" because people in 3rd world countries are often still growing heirloom varieties. Until you've seen a kid's face blow up like a beachball from a food allergy you can keep your mouth shut.  GMO's will create a major health epidemic.  Oh yeah, farmer here BTW.
