I used to work a customer service line. Convinced mew some people need this one too. http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy152/basketcase185/SuicideHelpline_zps597fa253.jpg View Quote A friend of mine had some mental issues and was put in the mental hospital for a bit. While visiting her one of the other patients told me why he was in there. He was schizophrenic and was usually fine when he was on his meds. Anyway, he went off his meds for some reason and got pretty irrational and suicidal. So, he got into a warm bath and cut his wrists. But he realized that he wasn’t going to die from this. So he did the logical thing… He called 911 for advice on how to kill himself. (He said that it seemed perfectly rational at the time.) The 911 operator told him to hold on and that someone would come by to help him out shortly. So the guy set back and waited, confident that the cops were going to show up and tell him how to kill himself properly. The cops apparently weren’t to gentle (and I think the schizophrenic guy resisted being helped) but they got him the help he needed. BTW the schizophrenic guy was real, real thankful to the cops for saving him. As I said, he was only nuts when he was off his meds. |

That prosthetic looks fucking cool as shit. View Quote It does rock, although I hope to hell they don't have to make too many of them. A buddy of mine makes prosthetics at Standard Artifical Limb. He is a below-the-knee amputee, so he gets to "try them on". He was wearing one to the VFW that had the socket painted as a Rams helmet, and had a suspension/articulation system similar to that pictured on it. It cost more than my house. |

I have this gardening book. It is called "Carrots Love Tomatoes" It was recommended to me by an Arfcommer. I planned to plant tomatoes today. So, thinking about this book, I decided to grab it off the shelf and see if it would help with my Fall planting. 1997 Jeep Cherokee - $1750 (Enid, OK ) If, however, you have BALLS OF STEEL and consider adverse weather an excuse to do stupid shit: THIS IS YOUR JEEP.
Do you laugh at danger, and tempt fate? Have you ever uttered the words, "Hold my beer and watch this ..."? While bored at work do you pick targets at random and think, "I could hit that from here with the .22 ..."? Have any of your friends quit hanging out because you were too much fun? Do you have the number of a friend with cash memorized for bail? When you pass an abandoned flatbed farm truck along a fenceline do you consider taking on another project? Is your ol' lady really sick of the random piles of parts, greasy footprints, and empty beer bottles in the garage? -could you not care less? Do you have Jalopnik saved on your laptop AND smartphone? Do you own a service manual for every vehicle you ever owned? Do you still miss your first ride? Can you carry on a two hour conversation discussing tools, scars, and hi-lift jacks? Remember when tool companies had the balls to put half-naked beauty queens on their calendars? Do you consider the Prius an abominable affront to the Gods of displacement, torque, and All Mighty Internal Combustion? ETA: Not mine... Just funny... BTW, the button to reset the trip odo appears to be a spent 308 case. |
