I pretty much stole the thing. Bought it last may with 4,500k Miles on it for 4G's.... Had to drive to West VA in a monsoon to pick it up though...

I went to the dealer to get one of those Firebolts as they were $9995 new. Then I spied a 1125R that had only 800 miles on it. They wanted $8995 for it. Figure in $2500 for the trade and I was riding home on a 1125R. I generally don't regret the purchase. The 1125 just starts getting it's second wind where the Firebolt is topping out (roughly 125 mph or so).

Originally I wanted a crotch rocket with TORQUE that I didn't have to rev the crap out of to go anywhere. Therefore I wanted a V-twin. Honda and Suzuki had discontinued their RCs and TLs. Ducatis are known maintenance whores and I didn't want the bike to spend more time in the shop than on the road. Besides, the closest Duc dealer is a bit of an idiot (my buddy with a 1098 is STILL waiting for a bolt for a muffler guard from last year). No nearby dealers for Aprilla. So thaty left me with one option, Buell. After having the bike back at the dealer twice the first was for bad back wheel bearings and the second was when I low sided it.

Hey what pipe do you have on there?

I have a spec ops, and it's starting to rust! I'm thinking sand it down and re-paint it with Grill Paint?

That is the Hawk pipe. Absolutely love it when paired up with the EBR ECM.

They do need to be sanded down and painted yearly. I use 1500° engine enamel.

Funniest part of the bike is pulling up to a light and people look over and do a "wtf!?!?" bc they dunno what it is. The spec ops pipe is loud. Just as loud as the short shots on my first sporty back in the day. Or pulling up behind ppl on Harley's and the look back and do the same double take.

Bought this last December, always wanted another old airhead BMW. Had one just like it 25 years ago.

I'd really been looking for the RS model so I found the faring, bars, ect and a couple weeks later I have this.

My main ride.

For local back road exploring.

2000 Yamaha Roadstar 1600 Silverado lots of aftermarket goodies... Being 27 years old, I've had dirt bikes, enduro's, and a couple Triumph's (Speed Triple and Daytona 675) So it was time for something a little different... It doesn't do 100+ through a sweeping left hander, but damn is it fun to just cruise all day in comfort.

I am sure SemperMO is referring to:
1) gloves
2) proper riding jacket
3) pants
4) riding boots

I had a Road Star before I got my Ultra. If I could afford another bike, I'd buy another one and strip it down to motor and metal and leave the rest off. That was a great bike.

There's a first time for everything...
That includes dropping a bike...
